There are some days where I really wished I lived in a much bigger city. I think I would love the convenience of living closer to multiple restaurants or trying out boutique fitness centers or being closer to great shopping.
But then I’m always reminded of why I love living in a small town–especially the town I grew up in–like when I’m running at the park and everyone I pass tells me “Good Morning” or when I’m always running into someone I know at either Walmart or Kroger. Or more importantly, when a funeral procession drives by and everyone stops and pulls over to pay respect for the deceased person.
Saturday was my town’s annual festival. I’ve always gone (except when I was in college and I was at the football game), and this year was no exception. Dustin had to work so I went with my sister and mom, and Rachel brought her camera along to grab some shots. I pulled these off of her Facebook page, so enjoy some photos showing small town, southern life!
Isn’t my mom so cute?! She ended up buying that poncho, too!
Notice the old fashioned cokes? You can’t go to this burger joint (that’s been around even before my parents were kids–and they sat at that same counter) without ordering an old fashioned coke.
What do you love about where you live?
