Today I turn 37–which is crazy because I feel like I’m 27 LOL.
What have I learned this past year of growing another year older? I think my biggest lesson I’ve learned is that I truly have to rely on the Lord for EVERYTHING. This is a season of exhaustion, not being able to do everything I want to or set out to do, disappointments, but also pure happiness 🙂
In honor of my 37th birthday, I thought I’d share 37 facts about me–some light hearted and some more serious.
- I became a Christian at the age of 13…a few months after my parents divorced. I was in a dark place and realized my struggle with perfectionism (my attempt to control something in my life) did not make me “good” and that the only thing that could ever save me was Jesus’s death on the cross.
- I love water. It’s my most favorite drink ever.
- My favorite color is blue
- My second favorite color is pink
- I’ve had glasses since I was in the 3rd grade, and I hate them. I just can’t get contacts in, so I’m stuck with them.
- I found out last year that I have a gluten allergy
- I love to read historical fiction
- I’m very much afraid of heights
- I remember our fertility doctor asking us how many kids we wished to have and Dustin saying two and I said three. Then after I had two, I decided that I was good with two. God had other plans, and now I couldn’t picture our life without three children!
- I graduated from The University of Alabama–Roll Tide!
- I love watching Christmas movies all year long
- I’m 5’7″
- I still have my teddy bear that I got when I was 2 months old–I’ll never be able to get rid of her!
- I’m a morning person, not a night owl–never have been
- I love movies
- I especially love GOING to the movies
- I have zero talents–I cannot sing or play an instrument and I wish I could
- I once rear-ended a couple who ended up being in an affair with one another–it was a whole mess
- I love listening to podcasts
- I do not like scary movies, tv shows, or podcasts–nope, not for me
- I cry very easily these days–songs, commercials, movies…anything
- My nickname as a kid was Miss B
- I LOOOOVE music
- and I especially love live music–take me to a concert and I’ll be happy!
- 25 is my favorite number!
- I have become very “crunchy” since 2020
- Dustin and I were set up on a blind date even though we went to high school together. He was a senior and I was a freshman, so we didn’t know each other in high school but we feel like our paths may have crossed at some point based on our friends and we just didn’t know it!
- My favorite movie is When Harry Met Sally
- My favorite foods (before becoming gluten free) used to be pizza and chicken fingers
- Speaking of becoming gluten free…since I don’t eat gluten anymore, I really miss drinking craft beer. My favorite craft beer was from a Birmingham brewery named Ghost Train and the beer is Kaleidoscope. SO SO GOOD
- My favorite cocktail right now is a paloma
- I am a very particular sleeper. Ask anyone who knows me–if something isn’t just so, I don’t sleep well
- I love to scare Dustin
- I would love to own my own business one day
- I miss running and I hope to start back soon
- I love to do my quiet time first thing in the morning, but these days, something it’s not always quiet haha
- I love my husband and children and am so thankful that I get to live my life being a wife and mother!

#18 was an ordeal–and I was young (like 23) so I had no idea what I was dealing with haha!
