We’ve had some unusually cold weather for Alabama the past few days. We had been expecting a huge ice storm Monday evening into Tuesday. I had plenty of supplies from the grocery store in case we lost power. Dustin bought us a generator to use in case we lost power, and we’ve got gas fireplace logs and our hot water heater is run off of gas–so we knew we’d be able to make it. I’d been watching coverage of the ice storm in Texas, so we were both prepared for the worst.
Nothing happened Monday night except for a rain storm. BUT we woke up yesterday to a winter wonderland!!! It never got above 19 degrees and snowed all day (I’m typing this Tuesday night and it’s still snowing!!). We bundled up after breakfast for Harrison to enjoy his first snow!
***I bought this little North Face snow suit in November 2019 when Harrison was 9 months old because I was *hoping* we’d get snow at some point that winter and I wanted him to be prepared. We never got snow. But I bought it big enough that he is wearing it this winter, and we’ve really gotten our money’s worth since he’s worn it a few times for cold weather. This is the jacket version.
He really loved it!!!
And then he was off to run up and down the sidewalk like he loves to do!
Brrr!
This picture sums up our life with an ALMOST two year old. He’s constantly running–we’re constantly running after him–and he’s smiling and laughing the whole time. LOL
Harrison and Daddy were both prepared for this weather and I…
…was not! I had to borrow Dustin’s Carhart jacket and I found cuddle duds in my drawer. I didn’t layer as much because I knew we wouldn’t be out more than 10-15 minutes.
Sweet buddy loved it!!!
Our attempt at a family photo except Harrison had other things to look at.
And a picture of the OGs!
We had a wonderful family day together! Dustin is having to go into work today and our school is doing a virtual day, so I’ve got to get off of here and get my lesson ready for my students!

Aaaahhhh I’m so jealous of that snow!! It barely missed us yet again! We always seem to be right on the line where it stops. We had a dusting the night before last, but it didn’t stick to the ground, only to the rooftops. Harrison looks like he’s enjoying it so darn much! Y’all stay warm!
