I polled everyone on IG earlier this week about blog posts that people like the most and Day in the Life posts were by far the most popular. I realized it’s been a long time since I’ve done one, so I decided to document Tuesday, July 20, 2021. When I chose that day, I had no idea what our plans would be. Dustin was off work that day and we had zero plans, so I was hoping for an interesting day haha!
My alarm went off at 6 AM and I laid there for a few minutes before getting up. Don’t you love my background picture?! My sister took it the day after she photographed a beautiful wedding and we got to go and take advantage of all of the florals and decor before everything was cleaned up.
Coffee, first thing. I really aspire to drink water the first thing in the morning, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. I love my coffee maker so much and I exclusively order these pods from Amazon. I’m linking a very similar (probably newer design) Nespresso machine. It comes with a milk frother just like mine did.
I read some blogs and watched a little Million Dollar Listing New York.
Harrison woke up about 45 minutes after I did, so I went to get him up. He is always happy to see me in the morning 🙂 We’re also working on taking the paci away, so he only gets the paci during nap and bedtime. We’re about a week in and he’s done so good so far!
Everyone was awake!!! Harrison like to have his morning “coppey” which is what he calls coffee. He knows Dustin and I drink coffee, so one morning he started referring to his milk as his coppey and now that’s all we call it haha!
Harrison helped me make his kodiak pancakes. He loves helping in the kitchen, but sometimes he just wants to “color” which is scribbling on a notepad with a pen. Side note: I’ve noticed how he holds a pen the correct way already and I was shocked!!
Then we all watched the Blue Origin take off and land. Did you?
The I forgot to take pictures of the next couple of hours. I ran to the doctor for what I thought was simple lab work, but after waiting for 20 minutes, they are making me come back for an actual appointment before I can get lab work done. Ugh. Then I ran Harrison’s backpack, lunchbox, and nap mat out to my friend’s store to have her monogram them–and ended up staying over an hour to talk! I drove back home just in time to see Harrison get back from watching trains with his daddy.
This is how Harrison greeted me when I got home 🙂 He had lots to tell me about train tracks, garbage trucks, and mail trucks haha!
Then we all ate lunch. I snapped this picture to show y’all what I had been listening to throughout the day–it was a cute episode!!!
This is what I wore most of the day (minus the slippers). Love this workout top (this is the brand–they have other tank tops) and I’ve worn this brand of shorts since college.
During naptime and bedtime, we turn the air down to 70 degrees. I was freezing so I had to change into a tshirt and sweatshirt–and I’m still loving my Peloton!
I grabbed a cozy blanket, the remote, and my favorite snack (Orange tic-tacs….weird, I know haha) and watched Hallmark Christmas in July while Harrison and Dustin napped.
And then Harrison woke up in a great mood and wanted to watch the end of one of his favorite movies, Home Alone 2 🙂
After the movie, we loaded up in Dustin’s truck and went to grab a cookie and dinner!
Every night after dinner, Harrison gets a bath and then we read lots of books while he drinks some milk. This is one of the books we like to read and I love that it intertwines Spanish within the English. Harrison can say face in Spanish and now we’re working on fingers and toes.
He also likes to jump on Daddy’s back while I read, and I just keep reading through the chaos haha
We put Harrison to bed and got started hanging the new gallery wall. Out of the 6 frames, only 1 has a picture. I’ve got a few I need to order from my sister and mpix. We got the first row hung and it took us over a hour to do so we left it so I could get to bed. I like to go to bed before 10 and Dustin likes to stay up.
I showered and used my nighttime products. I LOVE this face balm and my skin has never felt smoother!
Then I use this nightly cream every other night and it contains retin-A.
Then I apply this moisturizer. It smells really clean and it only takes a little bit to cover your whole face and neck. Like I said, a little goes a long way!
And I finish with this eye cream! I got this sample from Sephora a long time ago and it’s lasted me so long that I will definitely be buying the full size once this runs out. I really like Tatcha products and I also use this under eye brightener before putting on my concealer.
Then I got into bed and did my quiet time before turning off everything by 10 PM! I hope y’all enjoyed this peak into a normal day during the summer!

I always love these posts! It’s so fun to see how everyone spends their days. And I loooove that Harrison calls his milk coppey! Make sure you write all of those things down so you won’t forget! I keep a spreadsheet of all of the things Jacob and Olivia say and sometimes we’ll open it and read some of the stuff and it’s amazing how much you forget as they get older!
