Saturday, two friends and I went to an afternoon tea at a tea house that I had been dying to visit. One of my friends (her name is also Sarah) had already visited, but Alex and I were there for the first time. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! Literally, right up my alley and I felt very fancy eating and drinking my tea.
We visited Lanier House in Madison and they have a different them each month. Last month was Downton Abbey and I would have loved to visit then, but this month was Swan Lake and it was wonderful!!! They were very accommodating with my dietary restrictions and gave me my own tray for my gluten free food. Also, most gluten free food really isn’t that great, but I loved all of my food–the scone with clotted cream and jam was my absolute favorite!!!
Each china pattern was different and that was a really fun surprise!

Our first course was Rothbart’s Ruby Red Potato Salad, a savory palmier, and an enchanted spring canape. Our tea was a jasmine blossom green tea.

Our second course was a signature vanilla scone (my favorite), the Swan Queen’s lemon scone, and clotted cream and raspberry jam. Our tea was a lemon black tea. It was so good with a cube of sugar and some cream!

Our dessert course was a strawberry Dubai chocolate cup, the Dance of the Cygnet’s cannoli, and Odette’s merengue. Our tea was an orange hibiscus.
It really was the most fun and I cannot wait to do it again!
