Happy, happy Friday! It’s been the rainiest week after we had the most beautiful Easter weekend, I’m thankful for the rain, but I’m really ready to have some rain-free days where we can play outside.
As usual, today I’m sharing a few FAVORITES with y’all!
one

I had a moment of panic with my Easter dress this year. I ordered one from Tuckernuck (like I usually do because I LOVE their dresses!!!), but it was too snug when it came in the mail last Thursday. Friday after school, I took the kids with me to the mall to look for a dress last minute. I honestly didn’t have high hopes for finding something, and I figured I would just be rewearing something I already had. Instead, I found this dress that may not have color coordinated with the rest of my family, but by itself, I love this dress! Can’t wait to wear it this summer, too!

This is another dress I had grabbed to try on, and while I really loved it, it felt more like a dress for school versus a dress for Easter. The price is really great for this one and the quality felt great!

Harrison came to school Monday morning with me and my mom picked him up for his well check right before my students came in to my room. I grabbed this picture of him while he was writing a question for my students to answer that day. He sometimes leaves a question for my students on the board, and it’s really funny that 7th graders get so excited when a kindergartener leaves a question for them!

Yesterday after school, I was feeding everyone a snack and had to grab a picture with the babies. They are at the most fun age and I love this stage!

Do we look ready for Alabama football?! Merritt got an Alabama outfit for her birthday and I put her in it to wear to school one day this week. We got home and Harrison wanted to put on his new jersey. Well, because Harrison put his on, Banks had to put his on. And then I had to take a picture of everyone haha!! These are the cutest Alabama fans I’ve ever seen π

If you’re a Hunger Games fan, you’ve got to read Sunrise on the Reaping!!! I borrowed a student’s copy last week and read it in 3 days. While Catching Fire is my favorite HG book, Sunrise on the Reaping is now my 2nd favorite. It’s sooooo good! And it was really nice to be able to have a discussion with two of my students after I read it. Nerd note: We annotated “The Raven” around Halloween and then Sunrise had excerpts of “The Raven” in it that went along with Haymitch’s character. It was a nice moment when a student told me she was thankful we annotated it because she understood its significance π
That is a shame about the rain but great news that you found a dress for Easter.
Aww! That is so sweet that Harrison leaves a question for the older kids.
Itβs so funny how excited these 7th graders get when he leaves one!
