It’s been a minute since I’ve done a What’s Up Wednesday post! I’m excited to share a few things about this month with y’all ๐
What we’re eating this week…
Well, I tried to make a few new recipes. Monday, Banks cried because he said he didn’t like it and Harrison wasn’t thrilled but then ate most of his. Merritt loved it. Last night I tried another new recipe and Banks cried because he didn’t like it (see a theme here?!) and Dustin didn’t want it. Harrison wasn’t thrilled. Only Merritt and I ate, so I said I’m not cooking tonight ha!
What I’m reminiscing about…

This is what my summer looked like last year. I had a 5 year old, a 1 year old, and a 3 month old. I was just trying to survive each day. Before Dustin got a new job at his work, he was working 12 hour days and I was home a long time by myself. I felt very isolated and struggled with loneliness.
Fast forward to this summer and it’s been much better!! Banks is still my little velcro baby, but he’s also a big helper. It helps that Merritt doesn’t need me this summer in the same way she did last summer–I’m not feeding her multiple bottles a day and she’s not on a strict schedule like she was.

This is what most of our day have looked like this summer ๐

These two have become best friends and it makes me so happy!
What I’m loving…
I’m loving the fact that I got to be home all summer with my kids. I’ve always wanted to be a mom and I prayed (along with so many of you!!!) for the gift of motherhood–and now I’m living my dream!
***If you’re currently struggling with infertility or in the adoption process and experiencing difficulty, please know that I’m praying for you! Rest in the truth of knowing that God is good all the time and find your joy in Him while you are in the waiting season.
What we’ve been up to…

We went to Auburn to stay the weekend with my best friend and her family. She has a little girl who is a year younger than Harrison and a little girl a few weeks younger than Merritt!

Dustin and I had our first getaway since Harrison was born, and we went to The Grand in Point Clear–it was the most beautiful resort!

Every Thursday has been spent at our library for the summer reading program.

Dustin turned 40 and then we celebrated 11 years of marriage the next day!

And we’ve gone downtown to sit and watch for trains while eating a snack! This week is super hot here (think 113 degree heat index), so we stayed in the car and waited on a train. It was great when one passed by in front of us!
What I’m dreading…
I am dreading going back to work because I’m going to miss my kids so much.
What I’m excited about…
Disney World in September!!!
What I’m watching/reading…
I just started watching The Summer I Turned Pretty thanks to my best friend for telling me I’d like it. I watched episode 1 last night and laughed out loud during it!
I’m reading…

I’m really loving this book and can’t wait to blog a full review soon!
What I’m listening to…
Lots of laughter, some yelling and crying, and a whole lot of Toy Story haha!
What I’m wearing…

I have literally worn some variation of this all summer. This Lululemon tank, athletic shorts (either Lulu or Old Navy), and slippers around the house!
What I’m doing this weekend…
We’ve got some family things and just time together before I start school Monday.
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Harrison is playing soccer again, so I’m excited to see how he’s developed since last fall!
