Happy Monday and Happy Halloween, y’all! If you’re anything like us, you’ve been celebrating for the past few days! We went to our church’s fall festival on Wednesday so Harrison could dress up and trick or treat and then he got to wear his costume to his little school on Thursday for their Halloween party and trick or treating.
Then he woke up very sick on Friday morning and ended up testing positive for the flu. So that meant we couldn’t go to our small group’s Halloween costume party yesterday and no trick or treating today :(. At least he’s already worn his costume twice!
Because we won’t be out and about tonight, I thought I’d look back at his past Halloween costumes and remember those!
2019–his first Halloween at 8 months old!
Harrison started going to a church daycare once he hit 5.5 months old. The baby class he was in chose a theme for everyone to dress up as and they went as superheroes!!! I picked up this $3 onesie from Buy Buy Baby because….
…I spent $80 on this one! You may think that’s crazy (and it kind of was) but I had been looking forward to having a baby to celebrate all holidays with and also dress that baby up in a cute Pottery Barn Kid costume. Harrison looked so cute as he helped us hand out candy that year!
I have never loved Halloween more than when I became a mother ๐
2020–the one with croup at 20 months old!
You read that right. Harrison was diagnosed with the croup this Halloween, so we couldn’t go out with our friends like we had planned. And for those who know me, I am not the craftiest person, so the fact that I even attempted to create his costume meant something huge! I did that for two reasons: first, he was obsessed with watching Charlie Brown, and second, I couldn’t really decide on a costume from Pottery Barn that I was just in love with.
I ordered his Snoopy and he will still sleep with it sometimes ๐
And this pretty much sums up this Halloween–just not the most comfortable ๐
2021–Halloween at age 2.5!
After “creating” a costume the year before that we didn’t even get to enjoy, back to the Pottery Barn website I went! And it was a great find because Harrison just so happened to be obsessed with DINOSAURS!!! I wish I would have gotten a picture of the back of him, but his spine and tail lit up and some people asked is he was an alligator haha–he had the best time running door to door trying to keep that head on LOL!
This was such a fun costume!!!
2022–the one with the flu at age 3.5!
Just like everyone else in north Alabama and according to my IG stories, all over the US also, we are down for the count with the flu. I did snap a picture of Harrison at church Wednesday night so I wanted to share that. Right now, he is OBSESSED with trains and when I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween, he said a train “deductor”! The first costume I ordered from Amazon literally smelled like poison, so I mailed that back asap. Then I waited a little too long before ordering a new one, so what he got was what had his size in stock–and he ended up loving it! He was so excited when it came in, and when I tried it on him, he was so proud. My heart literally melted. You can tell from the picture below just how proud he is to be a train “deductor”!
He is so handsome!!!
I hope everyone’s Halloween is full of lots of candy–whether at home or out trick or treating! And now it’s time to start up the Christmas music, right?! LOL
