HAPPY LAST MONDAY OF SCHOOL!!! Can you tell I’m a little excited about school ending for the year?! While I’ll miss my students, I’m more than ready to be spending all of my time with my kids ๐
Today I wanted to share some simple joys with you as we start this new week!

Both boys love picking me flowers and I love it when they do! Harrison picked me a “flower” on a walk we took on May 1 and I didn’t even think about it until he went to bed, but he gave me flowers on May Day! My dad always used to send my mom flowers on May 1st, and I’ve always wanted someone (hint, hint Dustin…) to send me flowers on that day, too. Harrison didn’t even know I wanted flowers when he picked me some!

I wrote a post about this recently, but I find so much joy in listening to a good podcast! Sally Clarkson really is one of my favorites right now in this season of life, and I love her perspective on the importance of motherhood. Motherhood is hard, but it is the best thing I’ve been given by God (aside from my marriage). I strive to be really intentional when it comes to my parenting choices.

My favorite coffee is another simple joy. Camellia Coffee is a local coffee truck in my town and they will travel around our area to set up shop. I LOVE it when they are local and I have time to swing by before school to get myself a coffee. Or what’s even better is when a friend surprises me with coffee! There have been a couple times this school year where a friend has bought me a coffee, and it really made my day so much brighter! Even though I drink a cup of coffee at home each morning, I don’t get to drink Camellia frequently so it makes it such a joy when I do get a cup!

I absolutely find so much joy in getting pictures from Banks’s and Merritt’s teachers during the school day. I love it so much. I love seeing them interact with other babies and their teachers. It makes me feel good knowing that they are having fun, and they get to do some really fun things at their school!

One of my coworkers has her own popcorn maker and she has made popcorn for teachers the past couple of school days. If you know me, then you know how much I LOVE popcorn! I get that from my mom LOL. I have truly found so much joy in being able to get a little cup of popcorn here or there at the end of the school year.
I am off to finish up this last Monday of school. We are half days this week (teachers are full days) while giving exams, and today I only have one exam to give and then I have my planning period before the half day is over. I plan on reading a good book and cleaning out my classroom closet!
