Last week I started a new series on my blog, What I Wore When I…, and it was such a hit! It’s been so fun for me to come up with different post ideas, too. You can check out last week’s post here AND I realized last Wednesday that I still had that dress in my closet so I shared it on my stories that afternoon (follow me @saraheshaneyfelt).
Today I’m sharing What I Wore When I Became a Mother, and spoiler alert: I still have that outfit too haha!
Here’s what I wore on Saturday, March 2–the day Dustin and I met our son!
It may not look like it, but I put a lot of thought into what I was going to wear that day. If you were here when it happened, you know I had to pack in a hurry before hopping on a plane the next morning. I love dressing for a theme so I chose a top that was mostly blue. I knew we’d be meeting Harrison’s birth parents so I wanted to look nice for them, but I also knew we’d be in a hospital for a while (I think we were there around 8 hours that day before we went home) which is why I chose my most comfortable pair of jeans.
It ended up being great that I chose that top because I had no idea that I’d get to do skin to skin with Harrison. The NICU at that hospital was actually under construction so we were in a makeshift NICU with zero space and privacy so they had to put a little partition around me. This top has two buttons that I was able to unbutton and slip Harrison down because if you remember, he was born tiny–weighing 4 lb 7oz and was 17in long–so he fit right down my top!

Aww an outfit you’ll always remember! I definitely remember what I wore to the hospital to have Sophia – it was likely the only dress that fit LOL! xo, Biana BlovedBoston

Lovely . . . a soft breathable shirt and comfy pants for an amazing day. There is something so classic about that top. There is nothing but prayers answered in that day!

So sweet! I’m not sure I could even remember what I wore when my boys were born… hospital gown maybe?

What a beautiful memory. I love that you got to do skin on skin with him. How special! I can’t believe how much he’s grown!
