Happy Friday, y’all! I’ve been MIA this week on the blog because I haven’t had anything exciting to blog about haha! My days have looked the same, and while I really love being home with my kids all day, it’s not always blogworthy ๐
As usual, today I’m sharing a few FAVORITES with y’all!!
one

Today is Dustin’s 40TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I’m excited to celebrate him today! And tomorrow is our 11th anniversary!!! Why did we get married the day after Dustin’s birthday??? I say every year that I wish I would have picked a different date, but in reality, I really couldn’t. Back in 2014, I was in 4 wedding within a 4 month period, and one of those weddings was my own LOL. In order to keep some of my wedding events from clashing with one of my friend’s wedding and events, I had to choose late July. And because I’m a teacher, I had to keep it in the summer. Dustin is at least glad that he will never forget our anniversary ha!

I don’t even want to type this out, but summer is coming to an end and school is about to start (YUCK!). Harrison checked this book out at our local library and when I read it to him, he laughed so hard that as soon as Dustin got home from work, he wanted me to read it again so Dustin could hear. And then Harrison laughed again at all the funny parts ha! It’s pretty funny and really cute and would be great for back to school prep to read to your kids or grandkids!!

My sister took heirloom pictures of my kids and I AM OBSESSED! I can’t wait to get these framed and hung. If you’re local (and even if you’re not!), I would definitely contact her to book. These are just so beautiful!!

I started reading this book on our way to Auburn last week to visit and stay with my best friend and her family. Truthfully, it’s been not ideal for my best friend to live over 3 hours away and I always wish she were so much closer! I’m going to do an entire post on this book once I finish, but I have found within the past year that friendship has been really hard for me. I lost a friendship that I cherished, and I’ve just felt lost. I feel like I have lots of friends, but I really crave a deepness like I have with my best friend–if that makes sense. Maybe I need to be more intentional? I’m loving this book, though, and really learning a lot. And it also makes me really thankful for my friendship with Janie–we’ve been best friends since we were 14 and 15!

Those heirloom photos are amazing! Happy early anniversary and happy birthday to Dustin!
I feel you on the friendship front. I lost a cherished friendship in March 2024 and I am still mourning it.
Iโm so sorry, Jennifer! Praying for your heart
Late July wedding in Alabama lol.
I see people complaining about football season weddings but if youโre not getting married in May, itโs gotta be fall. We did September in Pennsylvania and that was perfect. Itโd NEVER work in the south.
Iโm sure the weather was great for yours! Iโve been to plenty of weddings in the fallโespecially my best friendโs and my sisterโs! Just pick a bye weekend or expect people to have the game on their phone during the reception ๐
I love those heirloom photos! So cute. I also struggle with friendships. I feel like I have friends, but they all have “better” friends that they do things with regularly. I am more of an add on for everyone. ๐ I do love Sarah Clarkson, so maybe I will check out the book and see what I can learn. Hope you have lots of fun in your waining days of Summer!
I am over halfway through the book and am really feeling encouraged! I hope you feel the same way I do ๐
Those heirloom photos are amazing! You are so lucky to have a photographer who is your sister!! And I feel you on the friend front… the older I get, the more I crave deeper, more connected, meaningful friendships. I’m so grateful to have a handful of ladies who fill my cup.
