Today is Harrison’s 7th birthday! I’m going to say this each birthday with each of my children, but it’s so true: time truly does goes by too quickly. Banks started running a fever yesterday, so we’ll be celebrating Harrison tonight just us and then we’ll have his party at a later date when everyone is well ๐

Harrison is such a special kid–he’s kind hearted and gets upset when those he loves dearly become upset. He’s encouraging–he loves to tell me when what I’ve cooked for supper is good (and he does this a lot in order to try to get Banks to eat it haha).

He is such a great big brother to Banks and Merritt. We started the adoption process again when Harrison had just turned 3 in hopes of making him a big brother. So as a family, we prayed a lot for the new baby who would join our family. Harrison was ecstatic when we brought Banks home, but then he started talking about how we needed a girl added to our family (to which Dustin and I always said–no we don’t ha). And he would actually pray about that out loud sometimes on our way to preschool. So now we like to laugh about how Harrison was the one who prayed for Merritt ๐

Harrison is so smart and he really loves school! He does all of these math problems in his head, and his reading has really taken off this year! Just recently he checked out his first chapter book from our local library and flew threw that book.

He has excellent handwriting and colors so well. He’s a perfectionist in all that he does.

He loves watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney and Dude Perfect on Youtube. He also loves listening to music like his momma ๐

We can’t imagine our lives without Harrison in it. And I’m so grateful to his birth parents for choosing us to be his parents. What a gift they gave us and our lives are so much richer because Harrison is in it ๐
