Happy Monday, y’all! The idea for this post came to me in the strangest way–I was steaming my dress for church yesterday. While I was steaming it, I was thinking about how easy steaming my dress was and how I could never use an iron again.
And I wondered how many people would agree with me….or disagree with me 🙂
I used to use an iron when I was younger and lived at home, but I never really wore clothes that required ironing. My clothes were more delicate and needed to be steamed, and I didn’t like (or trust myself) using the steam feature on the iron.
I don’t even think I registered for an iron when Dustin and I got married. Instead, I registered for a steamer. I think Dustin probably had pushback at the beginning, but once I let him know I wouldn’t be ironing his clothes but would steam them instead, I think he quickly came over to the steamer side LOL
I love having this steamer. This stays in my laundry room, and we steam our clothes as needed while they hang on a hanger. Even Harrison’s clothes get steamed!! So very easy. But here’s the key–you must use distilled water in your steamer if you want it to last. Otherwise minerals will clog up your steamer over time. I have had our steamer for almost 9 years and it’s still working great because I take care of it and only use distilled water.
This handy little steamer is perfect for traveling!! I packed it for my trip last summer to a women’s conference and it was great to have to straighten our clothes each morning. I also keep this one in our closet to do a quick steam if something needs it instead of walking it to our laundry room.
So, are you Team Steamer or Team Iron? I’d love to know!

I much prefer an iron over a steamer. To me the steamer takes too long. However, I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer – it is personal preference. As long as you go out without wrinkles is the key. 😊

Well, you have taught me something new yet again! I have the top steamer going on 11 years and have always used tap water in it! I had to clean it recently and definitely noticed mineral build up!

I haven’t ever used a steamer but as I get older I tend to iron more and more.
I do agree with “whatever gets the wrinkles out”.
