Woohoo! This might be my favorite type of blog post to read, and because I haven’t done one in a very long time, I decided Monday would be the best day!
A few things…
-I feel like I can never get into a routine because Dustin’s work schedule is so crazy that I can’t say that every Monday I’ll do this at around this time and on Tuesday’s I’ll do this and so on. With the personality type that I have, I thrive in routines. THRIVE. So you’ll see that Dustin worked on this day which means that he won’t the next week.
-Like I said above, he worked on Monday and then he came home to watch the National Championship, so we barely spent any time together because I did not care to watch the National Championship this year.
Here’s a look at my Monday!
I didn’t get out of bed until 5:13. I set my alarm earlier than that but I had a slight headache when I woke up, so I wanted to sleep a little bit longer! And you can see my reminder that Siri picked up so well haha!
Joke was on me because Harrison literally woke up and ran into my room 2 minutes later. **Also, he has been waking up at 5-5:30 since October!! Help! I don’t know how to get him back to sleeping like he used to, which was to 6:30ish. Nothing has changed, so I don’t understand why his sleep has??
I made my coffee after I turned on the tv for Harrison. Dustin got me the Ember mug for Christmas and I love having warm coffee the entire time I’m drinking it–I am a slow coffee drinker, so it makes a huge difference!
I went back to my room to do my quiet time. About 10ish days before Christmas, we had a leak in our master bath and leaked under the walls and into our room and the closet under the stairs. You can see where the leak was based on where they’ve cut out carpet and tore off base boards. We’ve got a few more quotes to get for insurance before they can do their thing and we can get the ball rolling. Living in this mess is not fun, but I keep telling myself it’s temporary and will be over soon……I hope.
Started on my quiet time. PS–these Bible highlighters are the best!
We snapped a quick picture in the driveway before heading to school!
This is the podcast I had started earlier that morning and then a certain 3 year old kept running in and out of the bathroom either telling me something or asking me to come and do something. Needless to say, I didn’t get far in this podcast, so I turned it back on after I dropped him off.
Ready for the day!!!
I’m starting a new novel with my students so during my break, I started numbering books to distribute to students later in the week.
I jumped in the car after school and was welcomed with this :). I blame Dustin because he drove my car twice on Sunday for a long time and never got me any gas. And I need to dust that dash–oops!
The library was our next stop because it had been since before Christmas when we last went. Harrison’s first stop is always the legos table.
And then we can look for books! He was looking for a specific train book that must have been checked out to someone else because we could not find it (nor remember the name ha)
I forgot to take a picture of my outfit!!! It was a cute dress I got for my birthday and a pair of riding boots. (linking similar dress here)
I had gotten a present from one of the librarians when we were at the library–it made my day!
I ate a little snack and started a new book!
I started cooking dinner. Sometimes Harrison will pull up a chair and help me cook, but he didn’t this time.
I love cooking in an apron!
Grabbed a quick picture once Dustin got home and Harrison wanted in the picture, too–I laughed so hard when I saw the end result haha!
I’ve been doing the BBG workout since the day after Christmas. I am not an early morning exerciser, so on school days I have to wait until after school. We spent a little more time after school running errands that I couldn’t do my workout as soon as I got home, so I had to cook dinner first. Dustin and Harrison sat down to eat and I changed clothes and ran upstairs to get my workout in. I had a guest join my during the last circuit and talk my ear off while I was working so hard just to breathe ha!
We always do bedtime as a family, but since it was the National Championship, I read to Harrison by myself after his bath. We read one library book and then one section in his Bible. Dustin joined us for bedtime prayers.
I did a few of my chores after H went to bed.
After I showered, I went upstairs to see if I could find something to watch. I watched a little of the game with Dustin, but the score was so terrible that it was boring. I ended up not staying upstairs for more than 20 minutes because then it was time for bed!
As you can see, I was still working on listening to that podcast Monday night haha! I finished it and then we hopped in bed at 10 to go to sleep!

My daughter is also an early riser and the only thing that has helped is using the Hatch nightlight! She knows to stay in her room until the green light comes on. When we first started i made her a chart and every day she stayed in her room quietly until the light came on she got a sticker and then a prize at the end of the week. We started with 6AM and once she did well with that we moved the time up slowly until we got to a 6:45 wake-up time.

Did you just find the BBG workout printables online? Or do you have to join a group? It looks like something I would enjoy doing as it doesn’t seem super time consuming. Thanks so much!

I loooove these posts! I love all of the windows in your classroom… that is awesome! And yes, that game was definitely one-sided. I’m sure all of the Ohio State fans were thinking they should have been there instead of TCU. They definitely gave us a run for our money on New year’s Eve!

Fun Fun post.
Love that you read both a library book and a bible passage to Harrison at night before bed.

My son is the same way with the early rising. Always has been. He’s 4 1/2 now and I’ve been using the strategy of turning on the tv to keep him quiet in the morning for 2 years now lol. Glad I’m not the only one. He carries his blanket and his loveys to the couch.
