It’s almost sale time!!!
I know every blogger out there will be (and has already been) covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year, but sometimes I think it’s fun to read sale posts from bloggers who won’t be spending thousands of dollars on things during the sale. I’ll only be looking at necessities because I still have a few months until my paycheck goes back to normal #maternityleave
Just in case you may not be as familiar with the anniversary sale, cardmembers are able to start shopping July 12 and then everyone else can start shopping July 19. Here’s the thing….the first year I decided to shop it, I didn’t have a card and didn’t realize it would be such a big deal. So on the first day open to the public, I went on the website to buy the Barefoot Dreams cardigan I had been wanting because it was discounted almost $40…..and they were already sold out! I couldn’t believe it!! Luckily, a friend in Texas had bought two and mailed me her extra. I applied for the credit card after that ha!
Here are a few things I’m going to be looking for during the sale:
If you are in need of a new pair of jeans, the sale is the best time to buy them because they will be heavily discounted. Two years ago I paid $99 for a pair of jeans that were normally priced $199!
The Zella leggings Nordstrom sells are great and they are normally discounted to around $35 during the sale.
3. Coats
I really need a good winter dress coat. I tried finding one last year and didn’t like any of them, so hopefully this year will be different.
This isn’t a need, but I would like a new purse if I can find one at a price I’m willing to pay at this point.
Dustin is obsessed with Travis Matthews shirts and they are about $35-40ish dollars cheaper during the sale. He wears them all the time so we’ll get him a few.
6. Baby boy things
I haven’t looked at the baby things yet, so it’ll be fun to see if I can find anything that I just have to have for Harrison!

I need a new pair of boots so I am hoping I can get lucky! Would love to get my mom a barefoot dreams cardigan too! I LOVE MINE!
I'm of course grabbing some Zella leggings. I'm debating if I need a new BFD cardigan as I have four from past sales but I might pick up the blanket for my Mom's Christmas gift. Other than leggings, I will probably browse the sweaters but I am not searching for a lot this year.
I feel like there is SO MUCH I want. But I should probably take account of what I NEED, and not just want. One thing I never think to look for, but I am going to this year are sleeveless blouses that are fall like…that way when it's still 90 degrees out, I can at least weather fall colors!
Definitely on the hunt for some baby things for sweet Charlie! I also really love the Zella leggings, I basically live in them during the wintertime. I'm also hunting a Barefoot Dreams blanket for myself & am crossing my fingers that one of the BD baby blankets goes on sale as well because I want to get one for my sister who is expecting!
