Happy Friday! It’s literally my times of the entire year–October through the New Year! October is my birthday month and the lead up to Christmas–it’s just the best!
As always, I’m sharing a few FAVORITES with y’all today!
one (adoption update!!!)
WE ARE NOW ACTIVE!!! That means that at any time, we can be matched with an expectant mom and her baby. It felt like it was taking forever to get to this point with the amount of paperwork we had to do this time, but now it’s here and who knows how long it will take. We were presented with one case already and we said yes to (meaning, you say yes to showing the expectant mom your profile book) that I thought would be a perfect fit for our family, but she ended up choosing another family. Instead of getting sad like I would have the last time we went through this, I have to remind myself that God is in control and He knows who our baby is.
We’re also still selling our fundraiser t-shirts!! They are $20 unless you order a 2x or 3x and those are $23.

I went to a Hocus Pocus 2 party last Friday night, and can you spot me? (Hint: I’m in the HRH sweatshirt!). One of my neighbors hosted it and 2 others who live on my street also attended, so we all walked down the street holding whatever food we were bringing haha! I made a pumpkin spice bundt cake that I carried and another girl pulled a wagon with her food. I wish I would have gotten a picture of all of the food and set up of everything–everything was on theme and perfect! We had a great time!

One of my most FAVORITE places to buy Harrison’s clothes from is The Oaks Apparel! They are an Alabama brand and they create the most classic clothing from baby to big boy. It’s hard to find classic clothing for Harrison now that he’s 3, but The Oaks makes the best clothes! I got him this shorts set when they were running a one day sale and I love it on him so much. Of course, they have sweet little girl clothing, but as a boy mom, I noticed right away that companies hardly ever create boy clothing–so when I find one that does, I stick with it!

I am LOVING this fall weather! I’m waking up to temperatures in the 40s, but then it’s rising to the upper 70s or low 80s by the afternoon–and that makes wearing the right clothes tricky. My Aunt Bebo gave me this sweater not too long ago, and it’s the perfect weight for this transitional weather. Then I wore these sandals that I’ve been wearing a ton this school year. Once it cools off completely, I’ll wear my Birdies a ton–those are perfect teacher shoes because they are so cushioned!
And a new book…
I picked up Heartbreak for Hire from our local library over a week ago and have just now picked it up to read–it’s been a busy week! I’ve read the first two chapters and so far I like it! It’s about a girl who works at a firm where the women specialize in getting revenge on men who have broken women’s hearts, and it’s been a women only firm until a man gets hired…and I bet they fall in love 🙂
I hope y’all have a great weekend and I’ll see y’all back here on Monday!

I’m having those same struggles outfit-wise! I love this time of year and try to remember to dress in layers so I can remove one mid-day when it warms up. Best of luck with the adoption!!

I’m so excited for y’all! You have all been in my prayers. And you are so right – God knows exactly who will be joining your family and it’ll happen in His perfect timing. Such a great way to look at things!
