Happy first Friday of summer break! It’s been a great and busy week. Harrison took swim lessons this week for the first time ever and while day 1 was a little (more like a lot) rough, day 2 was so great and he was jumping off the side of the pool and having a great time!
Here are a few favorites I want to share with you this week!!
ONE
We started off the week on Memorial Day at the local Jubilee festival! It got hot out there really quickly and after about 3 hours, I was ready to go! But not after Harrison got to ride the kids’ tractors that were set up next to the tractor show. It was so cute! We saw hot air balloons, tractors, a car show, and arts and crafts–and a few friends along the way.
TWO
I watched this on Netflix one night and it was SO CUTE!!! Pretty much like a funny Hallmark movie on Netflix, but I laughed out loud a few times. I really enjoyed the main actress and she did a great job acting.
THREE
I packed Harrison a lunch one day after swim lessons and used his dinosaur sandwich cutter he got in his Easter basket. Doing this made me so happy. I remember when I used to pray constantly for God to make me a mom, and now I think differently about doing mundane tasks like making lunch. I always think about those women who are in the throes of infertility or waiting, and I hope they can still see God’s goodness in the waiting.
FOUR
I keep seeing the athletic dress trend all over instagram. I had time by myself for a little bit earlier this week, so I stopped in Old Navy to see if they had one to try. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! I ended up buying a black one, but this one has a built in bra and the shorts underneath are about a 4 inch inseam. And the fabric feels really good! (It’s also on sale currently!)
Lastly….
It’s the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration this weekend (started yesterday), so I will be glued to my phone to see all of the pictures and news coverage! I loved the pictures from. yesterday’s Trooping the Colour parade and the lighting of the beacons, and can’t wait to see more!
And a request!!
I need a few good books to read this summer–I love light and fun and some romantic books, so if you have any good ones you’ve read lately, let me know! I know I want to read The Wedding Veil and I’ll be reading The Maid for my book club this month, but I’m open to LOTS of suggestions!

Emily Giffin has a new book that just came out a couple of days ago – Meant to Be. I haven’t read it yet because my Amazon shipment is currently lost (waaaahhhh!), but I’m hoping it’ll be good. I always love her books! I also just finished Love, Lists, and Fancy Ships by Sarah Gunder Ruiz and I LOOOOVED it. The title makes it sound kind of cheesy/shallow, but there was actually some depth to it. I loved the main character and I absolutely loved the whole story. I think there’s going to be a sequel or spinoff coming out in the fall, too. I highly recommend that one.

I laughed out loud at the pictures of Louis screaming during the flyover! How did they not notice?! For books, I recommend The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh and Chorus by Rebecca Kauffman. (Book Lovers is getting a lot of revs currently, but I haven’t read it yet). I gave both 5/5 stars on Goodreads, and I don’t do that very often. I hope you have a great summer!

This is a blog that I follow of two sweet ladies around the Atlanta area and their families. They normally post once a month their book recommendations from books they have read.

Aaaah, my book club read “The Maid” for our May read.
Not light and fun but:
If you like mythology: “Circe” by Madeline Miller.
An absolute tear jerker of a memoir: “Crying in H Mart” by Michelle Zauner.
as well as “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig & “Anxious People” by Fredrik Backman
Glad Swim lessons are going well for your little one(so important)

I just thought the dino sandwich was cute, but then your message that went along with it–such a good thing to keep in mind! Things get overwhelming, the mundane stuff is annoying, and you forget how awe-inspiring life really is. 🙂
