Happy first Monday of 2026! It’s back to school for me and the kids go back tomorrow. It’s been the BEST Christmas break and it’s going to be so hard to go back to school.
Today I want to look back at last year’s goals and share my goals for this year. I didn’t set many goals last year because I wanted to be realistic with the season of life I’m in right now, and this year I’m doing the same.
Let’s Look Back at 2025 Goals
1. Go to Disney World

CHECK!! This was the most fun vacation ever and the boys are still talking about it months later! Banks talks about doing slinky dog dash when we go back (he wasn’t tall enough this past time) and Harrison talks about all the new rides he’s going to try next time (like Guardians of the Galaxy). We’re going to wait to go back when all of our kids are tall enough to ride the rides, so we can ride everything together next time. But until then, I’ll just be reliving the best trip ever!
2. Cut down on seed oils in our home.
I think I actually forgot about this goal…oops. I try not to buy things with seed oils, but it’s hard because they are even in organic snacks. So I just try to limit their consumption in my house
3. Read 20 books this year.
I read 28!!!!! I obviously set my goal last year with low expectations because again, I started 2025 with a 9 month old and a 1 year old and I just didn’t think I’d have much time. My favorites from last year were Sunrise on the Reaping (cannot wait for the movie this November!!!!), The Briar Club (I’m a huge Kate Quinn fan anyway and this one did not disappoint), One Golden Summer (much better than her previous two!), and Good Energy (I could read this again!).
4. Start running again.
Well, I bought running shoes back in August and I ran a handful of times in 2025, but that was as far as I got. I still did lots of walking with my weighted vest, but no tmuch running.
5. Work on spending quality one-on-one time with my children.
I didn’t get to do this as much as I thought but that’s okay. It may be much easier once the babies are a little more independent. I spent a lot of quality time with all of my kids together ๐
Now, let’s see my goals for this year!
2026 Goals
1. Read the Bible in a year.
I got The Bible Recap for Christmas and started it on January 1. I finished Day 5 today and so far I’m enjoying it!
2. Read 30 books this year.
This one I’m nervous about LOL. I always get to read more during the summer since I will read during their nap time, so as long as I can have 10-12 books read by June, then I’ll feel much better. I already finished one (which I think I’ll start doing monthly book reviews–would y’all like that?) and I’m almost done with another (I have been staying up way too late reading this one because I AM HOOKED!), so I think that goal by summer is doable.
3. Run a race this year!

Yes!!! I want to run most likely a 5k this year! I’m not sure which one but I did see that the Galaxy of Lights has a night run at the beginning of December, so maybe that one because it would be a really run course, too.
4. Learn how to make focaccia bread.
I watched With Love, Meghan this past year and LOVED it. I know she has lots of haters (I don’t understand why), but her show was fantastic. She made focaccia bread and it looked so easy. I’m going to try that this year since I don’t have the time for sourdough right now.
5. Blog more.
I really miss blogging, but I always have to sacrifice something in order to write a blog post. Maybe this year I can get better about it.
Okay, that ‘s it! I am not setting many goals for myself this year but I’m really excited about the ones I have set.
