Happy Friday! It’s been a good but HOT week around here. We’ve spent a majority of the day inside and we’ve either gone outside in the morning or in the evening to avoid the hottest part of the day.
We’ve also got a really fun weekend ahead, so let’s get to my FAVORITES!
one

I ordered this regenerative gardening book in hopes that I can have a garden in my raised beds and this time, I can make it better than ever. If you haven’t watched either of the documentaries Kiss the Ground or Common Ground, you need to! They both opened my eyes to regenerative farming. After I first watched those, I talked about them so much and my mom even incorporates some of those practices with her chickens!

I decided to lay out during nap time one day this week using the splash pad to keep myself cool, and this is what Banks looked like when he found me out back. He was not happy that I was using his splash pad and he wasn’t ha!

I know I’ve talked a lot about our public library, but that’s because I love it so much!! Behind our library are the train tracks. The boys are OBSESSED with the trains that come through town. This day in particular, a train went through while we were in the library and they both ran to the door to watch it pass by. Harrison wants me to park facing the train tracks each time we’re there, too. It’s a whole thing haha, but it’s their favorite!

I shared this tank top last night on IG stories, but I own three of them and I have lived in them all summer! They are so comfortable and flowy but also fitted in a way. They wash and dry really well and are perfect for either working out or just wearing during the day. They also hit longer on my torso (I’m 5’7″) so don’t judge the picture on the model because she must be over 6′ haha!
Okay I’m off to hop on the treadmill before the kids wake up! I hope y’all have a great weekend!

My son is now 22, but I say at least several times a year that the #1 thing I miss most about his younger years is taking him to the library. We’d go every week and attend the free programs, get books on whatever was his latest obsession and let him play in the kid area for a bit.
I also miss the grade school book fairs, but unlike the library, those weren’t free! ๐
Yes those book fairs get expensive lol!! Does your son still like to read?
Unfortunately no. That stopped about 8th or 9th grade. He does still get the new releases of a Diary of a Wimpy Kid and will read/skim through them and has kept and added to the collection. More for sentimental sake for him I think.
Maybe heโll pick it back up one day!! I didnโt get back into reading until a year or two after I graduated college
Good luck with your garden, that book sounds like it will be a great help.
hehehe! Banks not being happy about your using his splash pad did make me chuckle. How adorable.
Thank you, Kim!! And yes, he wasnโt happy he wasnโt using it lol
I feel like we LIVED at our library; it’s so funny to see the librarians reactions now when any of my boys go. They’ve watched them grow but it had been a few years since they had gone in– my boys are over 6 feet now and all the librarians are like I remember when he was this small and point at their waists. I have 2 of the 3 that still enjoy reading so I call it a win!
I love that Joanne!! Love that 2 of your boys are still readers ๐
I love how much y’all utilize your local library. My best friend is a librarian and one of our local branches, and she was telling us just the other night at dinner how important it is right now to support your local library. We frequent ours and use the apps that they have, and we even track our summer reading through another app they have. Every little thing you can do helps them because the more people who use them and all of their resources, the more likely they are to receive funding from grants and such. So y’all keep it up!
I agree!! Public libraries are for the entire community! I wish more people realized that and utilized them. Our summer reading program days are always packed and I love it! Our town will be building a new library soon!
Fun Friday!
I too have happy memories of “the summer reading program” at the local library. Going in weekly getting stamps for books read. Thanks for the tank recommendation.

Heโs a hoot!
