Happy Happy Friday! We’re coming to the end of our spring break week, and man, has it flown. It’s really been the best spring break! The weather has been wonderful, so we’ve been outside a ton. I haven’t once thought about school which has been so freeing. While Dustin has been at work, my days have literally revolved around my kids and I’VE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!! My heart’s desire is to be a stay at home mom, but Merritt’s arrival really sealed the deal of me staying a full time working mom.
Since it’s Friday, I wanted to share some FAVORITES and pretty much all of them revolve around my kids ๐
one

The boys went to my mom’s house Sunday after church and she sent me this sweet picture of them! I’m going to print it out and frame it–they look like they love each other all the time and never fight ๐ haha
two

Meghan Markle (I mean Sussex ha) shared this cute idea on her IG the other day–it’s a breakfast take on banana splits! I want to try it with the boys because I bet they’d love it!
three

Like I said earlier, we’ve spent a lot of time outside this week and it has been pure bliss. I laid out this blanket for Merritt and I to play on while the boys ran around the room and played on the play set.
four

I took a screenshot of this high protein buffalo chicken recipe because it’s also something I want to make next week for my lunches. I will probably take out the celery, onion, and dill pickles–I don’t like a ton of extra things in my chicken salads. But this would be a great way to get closer to my daily protein goal!
five

I finished reading The Briar Club this week for my book club and I enjoyed it! I loved how all of the characters interwove in some way, and I really liked the setting–an all female boarding house in DC during the early 1950s Red Scare. There was one character who I tried skimming through her story because it didn’t appeal to me, but then her story became high drama and I needed to read it fully so I wouldn’t be confused. I’m a big fan of Kate Quinn and the first book I ever read by her, The Alice Network, might still be my favorite!
six

Harrison had ball practice late one night this past week, so I got the babies ready for bed and we hung out while waiting on their bedtime. This picture sums them up perfectly–Banks just wants to sit beside Merritt, and I’m keeping Merritt from pulling Banks’s hair–she has a thing with pulling hair and I don’t know why.
seven

We loaded up our snack and went downtown earlier this week to eat and wait on a train to come. Surprisingly, a train never came the whole time we were there. After snacks, we decided to play on the playground our city has downtown–which by the way, is the best thing our city has for kids!
I hope y’all have a great weekend! I’ve got to pick up Merritt’s birthday cake today and work on her balloon garland because her birthday party is tomorrow!!
