Happy Friday, y’all! Our first week of summer has come to an end, and it’s been the rainiest start to a summer–yuck! Even as I sit here typing this on Friday morning, more rain is expected this morning and it looks pretty gloomy outside.
As always, today I’m sharing some FAVORITES with y’all!
one

I got this weighted vest for Mother’s Day and it really is a FAVORITE! It can be a little overwhelming to decide which weighted vest to buy because there are so many options and even trying to figure out which weight to even buy (because you don’t want to buy too heavy or too light). I have two friends who both have an adjustable weighted vest and so that’s what I ended up asking for and getting! Mine is the 11-20lb vest and I’ve taken all the extra weights out, but I’m about to add one back in because I think 11lb is a little too light for me. I love wearing this vest and waking up the next morning and feeling sore in my legs and core–I know it’s doing something!

I had book club last Friday night and pulled out a dress to wear that I haven’t worn in FOREVER! I love this dress but it’s too short to wear to school, so I never wear it. Plus I didn’t wear it pregnant and last summer I was newly post-partum and not feeling great in my new body, so I also didn’t wear it. I’m linking a similar style, but not the exact one since this one I’m wearing is 5 years old!

Speaking of book club, this is my next FAVORITE!!! I love my book club! After Merritt was born and I was home on maternity leave, I was still able to read during the day while I rocked her, but I was craving being able to talk to people about the book I was reading. So last year (maybe at the end of May?), I reached out to some friends to see if they wanted to start a book club and I expected a couple of friends so say yes, but it was a lot! Our first meeting was last June and we read this book! Since then, we’ve added new people and it’s been great! Our current read is the newest Carley Fortune–which feels very appropriate for a summer read.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE BEING HOME FOR SUMMER! I love, love, love being home with my kids. Is it easy? No! There is plenty of fighting or crying or chasing after Merritt when she gets into something she’s not supposed to be doing ha! But I truly love spending these days with my kids because as the saying goes–the days are long but the years are short–and time is passing by too quickly. “Every good and perfect gift is from above” James 1:17
