I am a firm believer in sending mail to those you love. I know whenever I receive something in the mail unexpectedly from someone (like when my sister randomly sends me cards–and I love them…thank you Rach!), I feel so loved and cherished. Since it’s the Christmas season, I wanted to love on those that I couldn’t be with during this time of the year. We don’t need to forget the power of regular mail!
With that being said, this year I knew I wanted to bake something (because it’s my favorite) to send to long-distance friends. I baked these S’mores bars (and doubled the recipe) last Wednesday night. After letting them cool all night, I cut them up on Thursday and packaged them in these containers that I picked up at Walmart. I enclosed a little handwritten note with each package when I mailed them Thursday afternoon.
I mailed them to my two BFFS in Alabama and to a blog friend in Texas. My Alabama girls received theirs the next day and here’s what they sent me!
Mary Beth thought they were great!
….I didn’t really think about how they would mail. Luckily, they tasted much better than they looked!
And Janie decided to send me a play by play of her getting, opening, eating, and judging my food!
Hopefully this encourages you to send something unexpected to a friend (or even neighbor)! Never underestimate how a little mail can make someone feel so appreciated and valued!
