Hi friends!!!  It’s been a while since I’ve done a life lately, so here are some random pictures of our life lately!

 We left my mom and stepdad’s after lunch on the 4th and headed out to the river to meet up with some friends who were already out on their boats.


 We stayed out on the boats to watch the firework show at Point Mallard.  That was my first time ever watching it from the river!  There were so many boats anchored down all ready to watch the show–so fun!



 I have been a fan of Rosaria Butterfield’s ever since I heard her share her testimony one night in Nashville.  She published this book on hospitality this year and it is a MUST READ!!!  She gives examples of Christian hospitality in ways that you may not think.



 During the school year on days I’m getting ready for school, I listen to podcasts.  I haven’t done that very much this summer, so I’m trying to get back into the routine.  This podcast is very helpful for anyone who’s ever wondered what God’s will is for your life (I feel like that’s all of us!).  These Ask Pastor John episodes are pretty short, too–most are 11-13 minutes long!



 Dustin and I went up to my mom’s school (she’s a teacher, too!) to help her move stuff out of her classroom so her floors could get waxed.



I finished this book yesterday and it’s great!!!!  I’ll be doing a book recap post at the end of July/first of August and this book will be on it.  SO GOOD!!!!  It’s different from your typical Elin book but different in a good way!


And obviously our life lately has consisted of lots of talk about adoption!  Even though we’re just beginning this process and not considered an active family (that means you’re ready to match), we know that there will be a baby in the future!  It’s been so fun to talk about baby stuff and research nursery furniture and baby gear.  This is something we never did before because it was too painful.  I’m going to do a post next week asking for suggestions on baby things because it’s a little overwhelming, and we’re trying to gather things a little at a time so we’re not scrambling at the last minute!!


OH–And tomorrow starts the Nordstrom Anniversary sale!!!  I plan on doing a wishlist post this year of all the things I would buy (You know, saving $$ because of adoption!!), but I do plan on looking to actually buy a new pair of jeans for the school year!  No better time to buy jeans than when they’re 50% off!  I had lots of positive feedback last year from my Nordstrom posts, so I’ll be doing that again!  I know lots of other bloggers will be doing it, too 😊, but we all have our own style!

Life Lately

Happy Thursday, y’all!  I’m coming at you with a little life lately since I haven’t done one of those in forever!!  Before I get started on it, I have to comment on the Blogger comment email issue.  It’s driving me crazy not being able to respond back to anyone’s comments and for other bloggers who I comment on to not be able to respond back to me!  I miss the communication!!  Does anyone have any updates on it?

And I would have typed out this post yesterday, but any free time I got I was watching Suits #noshame


 I was finally cleared to workout regularly again so this is me after my first high intensity workout–after I changed clothes because I was sweating so badly ha!  I worked out before I went to grab lunch with my dad and put on some dry clothes only to get soaked having to run out to my car in a thunderstorm 🙈



 I talked my dad into lunch at Starbucks!!  My smoked turkey protein box was great.  I ordered the strawberry green tea to drink and it was okay.  Probably not going to order that again.



 I sent this to Dustin to show him the OOTD he was missing haha!  Isn’t my summer uniform glamorous?!  And yes, I wear my slippers even in the summer haha



 Saturday morning I went over to my sister’s house to do a 30 minute Beachbody workout–it was so tough and I was sore for at least 2 days afterward haha!  Later that night, I was her second shooter at a wedding, so you can imagine how well I slept Saturday night 😜



 Again, summer #OOTD!  I ran Tuesday morning, changed into the outfit above and went to yoga, and then stayed in that outfit in order to run a ton of errands.  I also voted in our state primary!



First, I want to give major props to women whose husbands either travel a lot for work or who are married to men in the military and have to go through deployments.  Dustin was gone on a work trip for a week and it was the longest week of my life!  I was fine during the day because I kept myself busy with friends, but I had a hard time sleeping at night while he was gone.  So I was VERY happy when he got to come home finally!  We went out on a date last night to see Adrift (GO SEE IT!!!!  AMAZING STORY!!!) and eat at PF Chang’s with dessert at Edgar’s!  And now I’ve had two great nights of sleep ha!

A Little Monday Coffee Talk + A GIVEAWAY!!!

Happy Monday, friends!  Let’e pretend it’s warmer weather here and I was tan like the above photo haha!  Speaking of weather, it’s supposed to get pretty severe here starting in the afternoons–I’m talking tornadic activity, hail, strong winds, so let’s hope it doesn’t!  Make sure you read to the bottom for the giveaway!


So if we were to sit down and have a cup of coffee together, here are a few things I’d want us to chat about…


Infertility is the biggest thing on my mind right now.  I shared this article on FB last week entitled “God, Why Won’t You Fulfill Our Desire for Children?”  Reading articles like this always come at a much needed time in my life and serve as a source of encouragement.  This article reminded me that God is always good.  And to remember that God isn’t good because of what he does, but because of WHO he is.  Because by nature I am a sinner, I often want God to just hurry up and give us children because children are a good gift (Psalm 127:3)!  But I remind myself that God has given us this season of life and I pray that I don’t waste it and that He is glorified.


And I realized that two years ago this month was when I started my first fertility drug.  To say that my body is exhausted and that I am weary is an understatement.  I’ve had a really hard time lately in dealing with a lot of different things–I try to remain positive, but I do have hard days.  My transfer is within a month and I’m asking that y’all pray for us.  I’m not going to be specific on any dates, but I would really appreciate your prayers.


Okay now onto a topic that isn’t quite as sad ha!  I went Easter dress shopping this weekend and ended up buying a dress on Sunday that I tried on on Saturday.  I should have just bought it Saturday, but it was the first one I tried on and I wanted to go to other stores to see if I could find something better.  Please tell me you’ve done that before 🙈  I found the cutest romper that isn’t appropriate for Easter but would be perfect for our beach trip this summer

This romper would look so cute with wedges out to eat one night!  I didn’t get it, but hopefully soon!


My mom has come up with a new business venture for me and I actually think I like it haha!  I’m going to do trial runs on my sister and my mom, and if I think it’s possible, then I’ll start advertising.  I know that’s so vague, and if I were reading someone else’s blog who said that, I’d really want to know.  I promise I’ll let y’all know either way soon!

I came across Chelsea Sobolik  last fall on Twitter after Russell Moore tweeted that he just finished the forward to her upcoming book Longing for Motherhood.  Now, I trust what Russell Moore tweets because I know he is a solid Believer who has solid doctrine and theological beliefs, and obviously the title was intriguing to me.  This was right before our last egg retrieval, so I started following Chelsea and saw that her book was set to release March 6.  Fast forward to the end of January, and she held a contest to receive a free copy of her book when it released–and I won!  When she emailed me to let me know, we started talking and I mentioned my blog and so she kindly sent me an extra copy to give to someone else struggling with childlessness.
