Weekend Happenings!

Happy Monday, y’all!  I hope your weekend was as fun as mine was!  

Today I’m sharing just a little snapshot of a few of the things I did this weekend.  
 My weekend started early with Christmas Village in Birmingham!  Mom and I have been planning this visit since early September and I plan on sharing my thoughts on it tomorrow (and I have LOTS of thoughts on it!).

Our Christmas post with Santa didn’t quite turn out–too bad you can’t even see Santa behind us!



 These are a few of the goodies I picked up–more on this tomorrow!


Saturday started off with grocery shopping for the week ahead.

 Then we packed up the cooler to head to Costco for some of the things that can’t be bought at Walmart or Kroger.  After that, we went to visit my grandfather in the hospital and then came home to prepare for Alabama vs. LSU–did anyone watch this game??!!

 I saw on IG where Jinger Duggar married Saturday and immediately took a screenshot to send to Victoria.  We love the Duggar family!


And then Saturday night ended with the football game.  ROLL TIDE!



 Sunday morning before church was wonderful–drinking my iced coffee and watching a little bit of a Hallmark Christmas movie!  What made that even better?  It was cool outside so it felt like fall!

And later Sunday I went with my mom and sister to our downtown’s Christmas Open House, visited with a friend from church, and watched a little TV to finish up the night!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday, y’all!  Mom and I are headed to the big Christmas Village today, so I can’t wait to recap that next week!  We’ve had this planned since early September, so it’s crazy to think that the day is already here!  Check me out on IG (@saraheshaneyfelt) for pictures from today!

I finally finished Downton Abbey!!!!!!!!!!!  Can I just say that I am obsessed with this show?  I felt the urge to talk in a British accent every time I watched an episode.  I thought that the show ended wonderfully and on a happy note–which is how I think a TV series should end!  I’ll definitely be re-watching episodes every once in a while!


 Each teacher in my school sponsors a club that meets on specific days throughout the school year.  This year my mom gave me the idea of doing a fashion club since I love clothing and fashion.  Our first club day was also the day of state volleyball games, so I had half of my girls out.  But this is a picture of some of the girls practicing different ways to wear a blanket scarf.  I had a blast our first meeting and I hope the girls did, too!



 New boots for my birthday from Dustin!  It really helps to email him links of things I want haha!
P.S.  If you don’t own a pair of Frye boots, you must buy some!  I like to think of them as an investment because they will last for a very long time–and never go out of style.  Frye boots are pretty much the only boot I will buy now.



The following pictures are of food from my favorite restaurant, The Little Donkey.  It’s like hipster-Mexican food, and Dustin and I love being able to eat there!
 This is their corn called elote.  This time I had them slice it off the cobb, but from now on I’ll just eat it off the cobb–so much easier.  It’s got some sort of sauce on it, chili powder, and cojita cheese.



 Dustin got 2 tacos (I can’t remember which kinds) and the “concoction” which is rice, beans, an egg, and lots of other stuff ha!



I also got the green goat salad–not pictured is the goat cheese.

P.S.  Thank y’all for your kind words on Wednesday’s post about my grandfather.  His surgery on his brain went well and the blood is draining, but he still has a long road ahead with other issues.  Please also pray for my dad and my two aunts–as my Popo is their whole world!

November Goals

I had started this post Sunday night with the intention of finishing Monday night and posting Tuesday morning.  Then Monday morning I got the call that my grandfather (my only living grandfather) had been taken to the hospital late Sunday night with a few health issues.  Then Monday afternoon the doctors found a brain bleed and he had surgery on his brain last night.  Needless to say, I feel like I have been at the hospital way too much lately…first with Dustin’s issues and now this.  Please pray that my grandfather recovers well from his surgery!

P.S. I’ve never done a monthly goals post before but thought it would be fun to try one month!


November Goals
-Take pictures for our Christmas card
-Make a list of everyone we are buying for for Christmas 
-Make a dish for each Thanksgiving we attend
-Run long runs every Saturday 
-Exercise 3x a week (at least)
-Finish watching Downton Abbey (almost there!)
