Today I’m going to start a fun new series on my blog about What I Wore When I + insert a really important life moment. I got the idea from a podcast that I came across the other day crated by Glamour magazine. I listened to Dorit Kemsley’s episode and loved it so much that I listened to an episode from a celebrity stylist.
I love clothes so much that I almost majored in Apparels and Textiles in college hoping to work for a major fashion house, so this series is perfect for me!
I’m even thinking of featuring other bloggers in this series, so please email me if you’re interested and we will pick a date! (saraheshaneyfelt@gmail.com)
Today I’m talking about…
…GOT ENGAGED!!!
Here’s what I wore…
I wore a printed maxi dress from a local boutique and the print looked like palm leaves mixed together. I think I paid maybe $70 for the dress? I really loved it at the time–it was a fun print and a really soft material that made the dress so comfortable.
Would I wear it today if I were to get engaged now? No. My style has evolved as is expected when you get older. Now, I typically stay away from prints and choose solids instead…unless it’s a Lilly print that I really like. But I still love maxi dresses so I would keep that the same!
I also was not expected to get engaged that evening at all. Instead, I was expecting to go out to a nice dinner, but Dustin surprised me with a whole set up about having to run down to the parcel of land his parents have given him. The best thing–I wasn’t even going to go with him LOL! I was going to stay at the house and let him go by himself because I was dressed up and not in the mood to walk around a pasture ha!
Here’s a full body shot of the dress PLUS I love the fact that Dustin set up a hunting/outdoor camera to get pictures of the proposal since he knew I wanted it to be a private moment! This was taken after he proposed and I was checking out my ring (again LOL) and the donkey had to see what was going on, too!
I’ve found a couple of dresses similar to what I wore seven years ago!
