If you’re like me, you’ve probably been wearing either minimal or no make up at all since basically March. The only reason why I’m wearing SOME make up now is so I can feel somewhat normal at school. But I’ve got a mask on all day, so honestly I do the bare minimum.
Now that I’m finally feeling good about my skincare routine and how my skin has turned out, I’m comfortable with wearing very light foundation–or even a tinted primer! This summer while I was wearing no make up at all, I still wanted my skin to have a glow about it. I never use the tanning bed anymore thanks to the two pre-cancerous moles I had taken off right after college. I don’t have time to lay out anymore (#momlifetoabusytoddler) so I’ve really been enjoying using self tanner in order to get some color on my body in a safe way.
But what about my face? My face is too sensitive to use the body self tanner on it, so I finally tried out the face tanning towels that Shay Shull used years ago before she moved to the drops.
The verdict? I LOVE THEM!
I use them only at night after I wash my face. I skip my retinol cream and just use moisturizer cream after the tanning solution has dried. The first time I used them, I used one on a Friday night, then again on a Monday night, and then again on the following Thursday night. I felt like after that, I had a really nice base tan and now I’ve just been using them one a week. I’ve been able to maintain that base tan with the once a week application.
They haven’t caused me to break out or make my skin to anything weird. I’ve loved it! If you’re wanting to try a face tanner, I would recommend this gradual one!
