I’ve been waiting to finally get the chance to do a house tour of my own house, and today is the day! I’ve decided to break my house tour down into a couple of separate posts because if not, it would be super lengthy.
Please keep in mind that we’re still furnishing this house because we basically started from scratch! This post is something for me to look back on in years to come and remember how we started out in our first home!
(All photos taken from an iPhone so they aren’t the best quality.)
Welcome to the Shaneyfelt home!
This is the view right when you walk in.
This is in our entry way. This piece of furniture is very special to me and was given to us by someone very dear to my heart when Dustin and I first got married. It’s a gorgeous antique piece.
A better photo of our entry way. I’ve actually added a runner to that space since I’ve taken this picture. Our house is an open concept and it was a must for me when we started thinking about either buying or building.
Our living room
I love this sofa table! We bought it right before our house was finished for the purpose of placing it right here. The deer antlers are from a deer Dustin killed. He has a degree in wildlife science from Auburn and so the books the antler is sitting on has special meaning to him.
Our dining room……empty. Dining room furniture is next on the list but we need to get through the Christmas season first haha! I love my chandelier and can’t wait to lower it over a table someday soon. I for sure know I want a table and a buffet with curtains and a rug. One day.
This helps to see the open concept a little better.
This is our breakfast area. It was a horrible time of day to be taking pictures but it was the only time I had–sorry the lighting is so bad!
View from our breakfast room into the kitchen.
Two things about this picture: 1. I wanted drawers on either side of my oven because I saw lots of pictures on Pinterest of kitchen cabinets like that. I read lots of comments about how people loved them and now I do, too! I will have drawers like this in our next house! 2. The bottom drawer on the oven is a warming drawer–not a storage drawer like most. It was the best upgrade I ever did!
Other view of the kitchen. The laundry room and pantry are both to the right.
As you can see, our house has come a long way, but it still has a long way to go. I know it’s a process and lots of people have told me that your house is truly never finished. I have enjoyed making it a home for us to enjoy for many years!!
