Happy Birthday D!

I’m popping in today from Rosemary Beach!  We’ve been on vacation since Monday, and I didn’t get any blog posts planned ahead of time 🙈  But today is a special day because it’s DUSTIN’S BIRTHDAY!!!

Dustin is turning 33 today so I wanted to share a couple of facts about Dustin for those of you who may be new followers!

1. Dustin is obsessed with our yard and making it look perfect.  He works really hard on it and is really proud of how green it is. 

2. Speaking of vacations, Dustin researches everything and wants to plan everything and I am the exact opposite!

3. He loves outdoor sporting like hunting and fishing.

4. He’s good at making corny jokes 🙂

5. He breaks out dancing sometimes and it always makes me laugh.

6. He’s so excited to be a daddy!!  And I can’t wait to see him be one.

Take Me Out to ShaneyFIELD!

We celebrated Dustin’s birthday Sunday night since we’ll be gone on our vacation on his actual birthday.  I’m a HUGE sucker for throwing a themed-birthday party.  I LOVE THEM!  My mom always threw my sister and I themed birthday parties, so I told Dustin that this is most likely his last year of getting a themed party since hopefully next summer we’ll have a baby!!!

I realized a few things about Sunday night:
1. I need to take more pictures
2. I need to document that people actually attended

Dustin loves watching the Braves and this season has been extra fun watching them since they’ve been pretty good!  Because of that, I threw him an Atlanta Braves Baseball Party!!
 We grabbed a quick picture before the party started and I’m glad we did because this was our only one all night!


The rest of the pictures are food set-up.  I decided to serve “ballpark food” aka food you’d buy in the ballpark.

 One of the foods I served was a Frito pie.  I went ahead and got the trays prepped with the fritos so our guests only had to add the cheese and chili if they wanted.  I ordered these trays on Amazon!



 I ordered the baseball plates and napkins from Amazon and had those set out at the beginning of the line.  Then I borrowed two tiered galvanized stands to set out hotdogs and bags of chips.  Dustin grilled the hotdogs early, and I wrapped them in foil in their buns–kind of like when you buy them at a ball field.



 This was the other side.  The hotdogs went on the bottom tiers of both stands and condiments went in the red tray on the right.



 You can’t really see it on the sign, but it says “Welcome to ShaneyField”–I loved it!  I had out a bucket of Cracker Jacks and a few bags of Big League Chew as favors.  The cake was out of this world delicious!!!



Happy early birthday, D, and I can’t wait to celebrate your real birthday at the beach!!

The Shaneyfelt Gingerbread House Competition 2017

It’s the last Thursday before Christmas and I feel like Dustin and I have ALL  the Christmas traditions to still do!  Tonight we’ll do our annual Shaneyfelt Christmas Light Drive-by and watch Home Alone.  Last night we built gingerbread houses.

Let me start off by saying this–we are a competitive couple.  As in, we like to race to the mailbox to see who can get there first to get the mail or who can put their pillowcase on their pillow fastest.  Crazy, I know, but we really enjoy competing against one another.

We’ve only decorated houses together once and have decided that this has to be an annual thing (I used to decorate with my sister each year).  We had way too much fun!  If you watched my IG stories last night then you heard all the laughter 😂

 We evenly distributed our candy.

 First, please notice the icing all over Dustin…and his mouth.  This type 1 diabetic should not have been eating that icing!


 He wins the award for messiest work space!
