Where would we be in life without leggings? I remember being in college when leggings were semi being made popular and loving how comfortable I felt when wearing them, but also feeling self-aware because of the huge debate about leggings not being pants…yada yada yada. Fast forward 8ish years 🙈 and I’d wear leggings to teach in if it were acceptable ha!
I’ve got two really great pairs of leggings that I’m going to compare for you today because I want you to be informed if you’re ever wanting to purchase either of these!
First, I wanted to let you know that my shirt is “technically” considered vintage since it’s Dustin’s from his senior year of high school aka my freshman year. Our basketball team or fans (I never really knew??) was called the Hoop Squad.
And these are both dark leggings, so that’s why it’s really hard to tell much distinction in the pictures. Both are a midi length.
Fabric
The fabric of these is really thin, and I think online they are described as “second skin.” And they really feel just like that. I love how soft the fabric is, but they are thin–not see-through thin, but still thin. I could easily take a nap in these and forget I even had on pants. 😜
Fit
These stretch out really well in the waist, so I would suggest sizing down one size. I could also see these working for pregnancy up to a point, so that was partly my justification for owning two pairs because they are pricey. They don’t have a traditional waistband which I really like.
Wear
These have washed and worn well!
Uses
In my opinion, these would not be great workout pants. I don’t think they would stay up well during a high impact workout. Really, these are great for lounging around and running errands.
Fabric
These have a thick fabric–much thicker than I was expecting!! I had read that a few bloggers wear these with boots and tunic tops in the winter and I can totally see that because they don’t have a legging look to them.
Fit
These are true to size and don’t have much give in the waist. I could not see these working for anyone in their pregnancy since the waist is pretty restrictive.
Wear
They have washed and worn well so far!
Uses
These could definitely be worn for a workout, but since they are pretty thick, I wouldn’t. I know this is weird but I don’t like to wear anything that’s going to make me sweat more in my workouts ha. Again, these can be worn like the Lulus in errand running and lounging, but they can also be worn dressed up with boots and a tunic top.
OVERALL
The Align leggings are my favorite simply due to the fit and fabric. They really are so so comfortable that once you start wearing them, you aren’t going to want to wear anything else! The Zella leggings are half the price and would be my #2 choice!
