Instead of blogging yesterday, I spent my time researching baby items and making lists of all that we’ll possibly need before we have to travel and of what can wait until we get home!!  

That was so fun but really exhausting haha!!  I’ll be back tomorrow with a weekend recap! xo

My Favorite Podcasts (….Right Now!)

I have become OBSESSED with podcasts in the last few months!  I feel like this is so crazy because I’m always such a music person, so it feels weird to be getting ready or cooking and listening to a podcast and not music.  But I’m not mad about it!

I realize now that I love learning, so listening to podcasts that allow me to learn while I’m busy driving or getting ready has been the best use of my time.  Now don’t get me wrong, I still listen to a lot of music 😂

Before I share what my favorite podcasts have been lately, I probably should tell you that I’m not one of those crime podcast listeners or anything like that.  I mean, I don’t even like to watch Dateline or anything like that on tv, so I’m not listening to it on a podcast haha!


This has been my FAVORITE episode that I’ve listened to lately, HANDS DOWN!  I actually ended up stopping the episode a few times to write down quotes.  Some of my favorites were: “Until I understand who God is, I can never understand who He has designed me to be.”  and “Sound doctrine yields sound living.”

If you listen to one episode this week, make it this one!

I listened to this while on the beach and cried 😂😂  I was thankful for sunglasses and a towel to wipe my tears on!

Jackie Hill Perry is my GIRL!  Love this episode of her!  I saw Jackie speak at The Gospel Coalition Women’s Conference back in June and her teaching is strong!

Yes to this one, too!  So convicting–especially when they talk about repentance.



I love listening to Al Mohler each week day because he gives world news from a Christian point of view.


The Big Boo Cast is the podcast I want to listen to when I want a good laugh!  Some of my favorite episodes were when they discussed the royal wedding!  Sophie Hudson is one half of the duo in the podcast and she lives in Birmingham!!



I don’t listen to these weekly, but there have been many times when I have a few free minutes so I scroll through to find something I want to listen to.

This was the very first episode I listened to from Risen Motherhood and it was so impactful because we had just started taking Clomid and I know the Lord put that episode in my hands to help prepare me for what was to come.  I now listen to RM a lot in order to prepare for motherhood!!

Summer Lovin’ Questions (A Week Later)

I know I’m a week late to the party, but I thought today I’d answer the link up questions from last week!
1. Walk or Bike Ride?  Since I don’t own a bicycle anymore, I guess I prefer walking ha!

2. Favorite Picnic Food?  Sandwiches–either a tomato sandwich or a BLT.

3. Pool or Lake?  Pool for sure since I can see to the bottom.  I definitely have gotten less fun as I’ve gotten older because I’ve gotten practical like that haha!  I think about all the times I swam off our pier at our lake cabin as a child and never had a worry in the world about what was in that water.  Please tell me I’m not alone in this!  I’ll still swim in the lake or river, but I’d prefer the pool overall.

4. Favorite Flavor of ice cream?  Chocolate chip cookie dough FOREVER

5. Ice Cream Cone or in a Dish?  Cone

6. Flip Flops or Slides?  These flip flops!

7. Jean Shorts or Jean Capris?  Out of those two choices, I’ll say jean shorts.  I just got a pair this summer that I actually like, and full price they’re under $30!  And they stretch!!

8. Favorite summer Fruit?  Strawberries!

9. Corn on the Cob or Cut Off the Cob?  On the cob–I’m not afraid to get it between my teeth haha!  I just have to floss after.

10. Favorite summertime song?  When I think of music in the summer, I think of classic rock–Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix…that’s what I want blasting while I’m outside or on the boat.  

11. Favorite summertime activity?  Not going to school!

12. Favorite Berry? Strawberries and blackberries

13. Bikini’s, tankini’s or one pieces?  I’ve never really been a fan of tankini’s on me, and right now during this season of life, I’m in one pieces.  I’m so glad they are making a come back because lots of one pieces are so stylish!!  I recently bought this bathing suit in a maroon color.  I have to be really careful buying one pieces since I have such a long torso, so I usually end up sizing up one for the length.

14. Dresses or Skirts?  Dresses all year long and I really like to add in skirts in the fall/winter

15. One Word to describe Summer?  Perfect!
