(Oops, just realized that I forgot to change the time when I scheduled this….so it never posted today!!!)
I had intended on posting a different recipe today, but after I received lots of comments about the cake picture from yesterday, I decided to swap posts! So next Tuesday I’ll have an awesome recipe to make for Valentine’s Day 🙂

On Saturday I decided to make a plain flavored bundt cake because I wanted to try my hand at making a homemade chocolate buttercream icing. I’ve had it only a handful of times, and I wanted to see how difficult it would be to make. Good news….it’s so EASY! And actually I played around with the measurements so unfortunately they probably aren’t too accurate. Translation: You can’t mess it up!
Chocolate Buttercream Icing
1 stick butter, softened
1 Tsp vanilla extract
dash of salt
1 (16 oz) package of powdered sugar
1/3 cup cocoa (the recipe called for 2/3 cup and I used half)
5 to 7 TBS milk
1. Beat together butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
2. Begin slowly adding in the powdered sugar alternating with 1 TBS of milk. Do this until you reach your desired consistency. If you look at my picture above, you’ll see that my icing is thicker since I knew I wanted to use it on top of my bundt cake.
3. Add in your cocoa last and mix well!
You will love this recipe. Your family will love this recipe. Everyone will LOVE this recipe! Enjoy and try not to eat it all in one sitting 🙂
