I’ve been reading lots of posts where people are confessing embarrassing things about themselves–Andrea had her Momfessionals day, Erika has her Owning It posts, and Mackenzie posted yesterday a list of confessions.
I have something to confess: I LOVE reading these! It’s comforting to know that other people have their quirks and are weird different than what’s considered the “norm.”
So I asked Dustin about some of the quirky things that I do or about some of my stranger tendencies. Keep in mind that these are written by him. My thoughts are italicized below!
1. Alarm clock times.
She doesn’t set the alarm clock for normal times like 5:30 or 6:00 but sets if for times like 5:32, 5:37, or 6:03.
Haha! I do this because I feel like I get a few extra minutes!
2. Fork size.
No matter where we are, she has to have a kid sized fork.
Yes, I like kid-size forks. I’m the only one at the dinner table that still uses them haha!
3. Showering every night.
No matter what time of night it is that we get home, she takes a shower. For example, we get home from a concert at 1 in the morning and she still takes a shower before she gets in bed. Me…brush my teeth and I’m out.
What can I say, I like to feel clean when I get in bed to go to sleep!
4. She never wears ball caps.
I find it weird that even on lazy days or days that we do outdoor activities, she never wears a ball cap. I don’t even think she owns one.
Nope–no ball caps here. I look weird in them!
5. The eye pillow.
I feel like I’m married to Ray Charles! She always has it on in the mornings before I leave for work and I can never look her in the eyes telling her bye.
He makes it sound like I sleep with that all the time! I do put it over my eyes when he gets up to get ready for work since it’s like 3:30 AM and his cell phone is so bright. Whatever helps me sleep!
6. Sleeping like a mummy.
She lays flat on her back all night with her arms straight to her side and the blankets encased around her (not an ounce of air can get in).
I’m a back sleeper (sometimes a side sleeper) but I do like having the covers tucked around me–this probably stems from childhood and my mom doing it to me.
7. Chapstick every night before going to sleep.
Even after I kiss her at night before going to sleep, she has to reapply the chapstick.
Yep, I like my lips to stay hydrated during the night!
What about you–what are some of your quirks?
Now for the Giveaway! I am giving away a $15 Starbucks card (because I have a new found love for coffee) and this will run through Monday at midnight!
