Weekend Recap!

I am extremely thankful for my husband’s job, but I sure do love it when he has the entire weekend off!  That actually happened this past weekend, so we spent it at the lake with my BFF and her husband!  (And I’m really horrible at taking pictures so I really need to work on that!)

Friday was insane.  I spent the majority of the day running errands for the new house.  I still had about 1/3 of my statistics homework to do before we left for the lake, and the errands I was running took a lot longer than I had anticipated.  Dustin spent the entire day working on our breakfast room table and chairs–he had already stripped them and was staining them on Friday.  I had to run up to my mom’s so I took my statistics homework to do while I was there….and I brought my sheets to wash.  You know, to kill two birds with one stone.  I finished my homework just in time to rush home to pack because we needed to be on the road by 6 PM.


 Unfortunately, earlier that afternoon a man had been killed on the interstate and they shut it down.  So not only was traffic being rerouted for that but there was also a music festival going on and there was a ton of traffic for that.  What should have taken us 1.5 hours took us 4 hours.  This is our interstate selfie.


 This is my best friend, Janie, on Friday night.  She has a hard time staying awake–yes, it was super late by the time this was taken, but she was the only one asleep ๐Ÿ™‚  She’s going to love that I put this picture up ha!


I’m not even going to put any pictures of us from Saturday on the lake.  We looked rough!  But we had a great time floating in the lake and riding the jet ski.  I can’t wait to go back.  Next time, we hope our other best friend can go…she was on an anniversary trip this weekend with her husband, so she obviously skipped out on the lake ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t get any pictures from visiting my stepdad or my father-in-law on Father’s Day.  Does anyone else have a hard time remembering to take pictures?

I’ll be doing a Day in the Life post tomorrow so that I can remember the chaos in my life right now that is grad school, leading a women’s Bible study, and moving.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Friday Favorites! (6.19.15)

Yay for Friday!  As a teacher, every day is like the weekend to me, but I’m actually happy today is Friday because we have a fun weekend planned.  We’re going on a little weekend getaway with my BFF and her husband!

Last weekend I took my dad to see Jurassic World for Father’s Day.  The whole Jurassic Park franchise is my FAVORITE (except the 2nd movie) and this one may have been super fake but I loved every minute of it!  I was a little unsure of watching it in 3D but it wasn’t that bad.  We took this picture before the movie started and this was before I had to put on my real glasses and then the 3D glasses on top ๐Ÿ™  #badeyesightprobs
My church has a Women’s Ministry and our study for this coming year is Donald Whitney’s Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life.  I’m leading this study with the small group leaders this summer and it’s been a definite FAVORITE so far.  I’ve been really bad at memorizing Scripture so I’m really being intentional in that this summer.  I started with Psalm 19:14.  My friend, Sarah, sent this screen lock picture to me that she found on the She Reads Truth app.
This past week marked two years since we got engaged.  This is a FAVORITE memory of mine because the story is so funny.  Dustin lied to tricked me into looking for his mom’s cell phone that she had “dropped” by the pond earlier that day.  This was taken after he proposed and I was checking my awesome ring out.  I’m very private about relationship things and so he knew I didn’t want someone hiding out taking our pictures.  But he was also smart enough to know I would want to see pictures someday so he hid a game camera and so this picture was off the game camera!!  The donkey just had to see what was going on!
Another FAVORITE is that I ran in the heat earlier this week and survived!  My pace was much better than I expected.  I’ve really got to get better at getting up early like twice a week to run.  Because we all know that I don’t want to have to get up early all summer ๐Ÿ™‚

I used a fax machine this week and I’m calling this a FAVORITE moment!  These things make me nervous because I use one maybe once or twice every two years!!  I have no idea if my fax goes through or if I even did it correctly.  You know with email you can always check to see if it goes through but not a fax.   I’m so thankful that I don’t have to always use a fax machine.


My last FAVORITE moment?  We close on our house in just a few short days!!!!!  I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!

Friday Favorites (6.12.15)

Happy Friday, y’all!  It’s been a fun but busy week, and I’m really thankful Friday is here.  Once again, I’m linking up with Andrea for Friday Favorites.



We’ve had Vacation Bible School all week at church and this is my precious and FAVORITE  2nd grade class!  This year, my friend Sarah and I had the smallest class–as in, kindergarten had over 30 each day!  But they’ve been super sweet and wonderful each day, and I have been praying for these kids and will continue to pray for them!
My sister and I drove by our old house this past week and just had to take a selfie ๐Ÿ™‚  This house was my FAVORITE for so many reasons!  We had fantastic neighbors, lived on a cup-de-sac, had a huge yard, and was in town.  We have lots of memories here….like I ran down that driveway naked when I was 2 or 3 one time, I also backed into my mom’s car twice in that driveway, and Rachel flipped over her bicycle in that driveway and now has an indention in her forehead.
This house is my FAVORITE!!!!!  We went by last night to check on the progress and they have completely finished the outside.  The painters finished up all of the touch ups yesterday and now they are completely done!  They still need to add our mirrors, hang our hand towel racks and stuff, and put up our shower door.  And clean.  I am so so SO ready to move in!
Y’all, this guy is my FAVORITE.  First of all, he’s obsessed with our grass at the new house and this is him trying to stick a sprinkler in the backyard to water the sod.  Yesterday, I saw where he had posted on Facebook this not so good picture of me working on statistics.  Then he basically wrote about how I am pretty much superwoman super busy because I’ve got so much going on this summer and I give everything my 100% all the time.  He’s the greatest and I’m so thankful for him and for how much he loves me!  He also keeps me laughing!

Here’s to a weekend full of NO GRAD SCHOOL because I finished my classes already!  (Who am I kidding?  I’ll work on next week’s assignment this weekend.)
