Weekend Recap!

This weekend was somewhat busy and then somewhat laid-back.  However, I’m typing this bright and early Monday morning because I spent yesterday evening finishing up making my English exam to give today and tomorrow #procrastinatorforever.  I’ll see half of my classes today and the other half tomorrow and then that’s it with the kids!  It’s so crazy to think that this year has gone by so fast–although I did spend the majority of it wishing it away #gradschoolprobs

FRIDAY

 Friday night was Relay for Life in my town.  I was working my church booth from 9-10 PM, so I talked my sister into meeting me up there early so we could buy a piece of our favorite cake for $1 from our cousin’s booth.  And we showed up in the same shirt haha!  I laughed so hard because this was not planned at all!



 I got home about 10:15 that night and there was a package on the front door step that neither of us noticed earlier in the afternoon.  It was my diploma!  It’s official!



SATURDAY

 I woke up early Saturday morning because I guess my internal alarm clock is still working.  Because of that, I decided to catch up on some TV.  First up, #RichKids of Beverly Hills.  Morgan makes me laugh!



 Then I moved to the couch and decided to watch the second episode of Friday Night Lights.  I would have watched more, but it was time for me to get in the shower.



 ….because we had a wedding to attend!



 My niece, Alina, sat with me during the ceremony.



 And then I had our 15 year old nephew take pictures of us–naturally we ended up with about 15.  This one is the best and then a few candids 🙂


On Sunday, I went to church while D worked overtime, grocery shopped, watched Hallmark movies, walked, met up with him at Panera, and finished my exam.

Friday Favorites!!!

Happy Friday, y’all!  
One of my most FAVORITE things about today is that this is my last Friday to work until August!!!  This year our school calendar has next Thursday as the last day for teachers and we are thrilled.  Until then, we’re all like…
 Earlier in the week I was getting ready to peel and chop these sweet potatoes in order to roast them in the oven.  Roasted sweet potatoes are Dustin’s FAVORITE thing to eat, and he would want me to cook them every day if I would.  My old vegetable peeler was awful and I hated the thought of making these, but I just ordered a new one from Pampered Chef and had these babies peeled in no time!



 My sister and her husband were gone to the beach for a week–yay for her and sad for me! I missed having her here, so when I talked to her on the phone as they were driving back Tuesday, I immediately invited them over for dinner.  I knew she wouldn’t feel like cooking anything after getting back from the beach and unpacking.  After dinner, we all went on a walk around my neighborhood.  Our walks together are always a FAVORITE!



 Even Nick and Ralphie came!  Walks might be Ralph’s FAVORITE thing, too!  Right after doing all of his tricks!



I typically cook 4-5 nights out of the 7 day week.  And my FAVORITE food ever is pizza.  Like I really could eat pizza multiple days a week.  Before I began my weight loss journey, I ate Pizza Hut, Dominos–you name it.  Now things have changed and the only pizza I order out is the vegetarian one from Papa Murphy’s.  But I’ve just recently learned to make my own dough (whole wheat of course), so we pretty much have homemade pizza once a week!



Yesterday I wrote a post about how my husband falls asleep everywhere.  The fact that he sleeps when we’re trying to watch a TV show together is definitely not a FAVORITE, but yesterday’s post was!  #wheredustinsleeps



Finally, my most FAVORITE thing today is the community I live in.  The little girl pictured above is a first grader in my little town.  She was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.  My community has banded together supporting her and her family and raising lots of money to help with any sort of costs the family may have (She is receiving treatment at St. Jude’s in Memphis and of course, this is free for children).  If you get a moment, please go check out her Facebook page Prayers for Kayleigh and read about the amazing faith her parents have during this time in their lives.  

I and a few other teachers will be raising money and running the St. Jude’s half marathon in her honor in December.

We were supposed to be watching Friday Night Lights together on Netflix, but this was what happened 10 minutes into episode 1.

My blog friend, Erica, commented and told me I should start a hashtag of #wheredustinsleeps….so I did.  I went back through Instagram tagging old sleeping photos of Dustin.  The man can sleep anywhere and in any position.  I remember him once telling me about the crazy places he used to sleep on hunting trips with his college buddies, and now that we’re married, I believe it!
