Day Six: Favorite Holiday Recipes

There’s just something about the Christmas season that screams holiday baking to me.  And because I am from the South, food is a love language here.  Making memories and spending quality time together is usually done over food, and it’s always more special when that food is made with love.

For today’s prompt, Favorite Holiday Recipes, I’m going to list sweets since that’s what I associate Christmas food with–don’t we all?!  😃

Day Five: What’s In Your Bag Holiday Edition + Friday Favs

Happy Friday, y’all!  I have exactly one more week of school and then I’m off for Christmas break until January 3rd!  December 16th, hurry up and get here!

Today is the fifth day in the It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year link up with Victoria and me, and y’all, it’s been so much fun so far!  Today we’re sharing What’s in Our Bag Holiday Edition….and I’m putting a different spin on it.  Since it’s the Christmas season, I’m showing you what I WISH was in my bag this holiday season!  (hint hint Dustin)

It’s so much better than me lugging around my Barrington tote (seriously, a fav) and taking pictures of the junk inside and the old wallet that I need to replace.  Like, it’s really old #newonebefore2017
Yes, this $1200+ bag is a NEED.  Dustin thinks he needs a really expensive gun each year, so I’ve decided that I get to match the price of the gun to a new bag.  Sounds pretty fair, right? haha!

 This wallet is something I’ve wanted since college and I think this Christmas season I’m gong to break down and buy one.  I love that it’s something that I can easily take out of my purse and carry as a small clutch into places where I only need money.


We all have our cell phones in our bags and I’m ready for a new case for mine.  I love this case from Scarlet and Gold–a much needed reminder.


My EC planner runs from January to December, so obviously I need to replace mine ASAP.  I love this design and the pastel colors.  It’s just so hard to decide on a design because after that I’ve got to choose my layout.  So. Many. Decisions.


Don’t we all carry lipstick in our bags, too?  This YSL lipstick is my absolute favorite and I’m in the market for a new shade.  I love how hydrating this color is and it stays on for hours at a time.  Yes, it’s a little pricey for lipstick but it’s totally worth it!


And for just a few favorites…

 Last Thursday I picked up cookies for my Bible study girls and there were a few extras so this guy got to have one.  Doesn’t he look so excited to have a Santa cookie?  (It’s because I rarely have sweets in the house haha #type1diabeticprobs)



And then Dustin surprised me with these magazines last weekend!  I guess he saw the Christmas and decided I needed it 🙂

Day Four: Gift Guide for Your Bestie!

There are a lot of gift guides floating around the blog world this time of year.  Gift guides for your mom, husband, children, coworker….you name it and it’s out there.  But I haven’t seen one for your best friend just yet, and today that’s what I’m going to share with you!

My best friend and I don’t exchange gifts on Christmas because we still do birthday gifts for each other, but if we were exchanging gifts with each other, these would be some top contenders!

 Don’t we all need a fancy cookbook?!  After I gift my bestie with this cookbook, I expect her to make me a meal from it haha!



I love all things personalized, and an initial necklace is perfect for your bestie!  You could get her first initial or last name initial and gold goes with everything.  Plus, this necklace is inexpensive 🙂



After eating from Cravings, both you and your bestie are going to need to work out.  I’m pretty obsessed with mid-length leggings right now.  I feel like they work on everyone regardless of height.  And everyone has a pair of black leggings and not everyone looks great (or loves) crazy print leggings, so grab her a pair of solids that would go with lots of different colors!



Can you tell I bond over food?  I love this gift.  It’s cheap.  And it comes with everything you would need to make beautiful Christmas cookies.  Once you make and decorate a batch, you can split them (and then wear those leggings to work out haha!).  But in all seriousness, I would love to know how to make those beautifully iced sugar cookies!
