What’s Up Wednesday–November 2016

Happy Wednesday, y’all!  I’m extra happy this Wednesday because today is my first day for Thanksgiving break!  Maybe one year we’ll get out all of Thanksgiving week like surrounding systems 🙂  A girl can dream, right?!

What we’re eating this week…
Last night I made taco soup for D and I ate a mini breakfast sandwich (anyone else make something for supper and then don’t feel like eating it?).
Tonight we’re eating grilled chicken strips and veggies.
Wednesday and Thursday we have Thanksgiving with both families.
Friday I’ll probably still be full and won’t want to eat ha!


What I’m reminiscing about…
Five years ago Friday was mine and Dustin’s first date!  It’s so crazy to think we started dating 5 years ago and just celebrated 2 years of marriage.  I plan on doing a little something to celebrate Friday night after Dustin gets off work!


What I’m loving…
I absolutely love this holiday season.  This is my favorite time of the year!  I love the memories made during this time of the year.

What we’ve been up to…
Other than finishing decorating for Christmas a few days ago, we haven’t really done anything special.


What I’m dreading…
I can’t think of anything I am dreading?!  After Thanksgiving break, we have 3 weeks left of school and that includes prepping for semester exams and giving them.  Kids will be a little stir crazy before getting out for Christmas!


What I’m working on…
…planning for mine and Victoria’s Christmas link up!  If you still haven’t seen our link up schedule, you can find that here.  I hope you’ll plan on joining us!
What I’m excited about…
Visiting with family tonight and all day tomorrow!  Dustin and I have Thanksgiving meals Wednesday night, Thursday for lunch, and Thursday afternoon.  For the first time ever, we’re free on Thursday night so I am really looking forward to being at home together relaxing and watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (he thinks we’ll be watching football 😉 )


What I’m watching/reading…
Watching LOTS of Hallmark Christmas movies and I finished the winter season of Grey’s.  I really need to catch up on This Is Us!  Dustin and I like to watch it together and haven’t had time/he’s wanted to watch football during his free time.

I haven’t been reading much lately and am in need of a really good book rec!!


What I’m listening to…
some Christmas music along with The Avett Brothers pandora station–my favorite!


What I’m wearing…



What I’m doing this weekend…
BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING!!!!  And with my mom!  I’m pretty excited about it!  Saturday is the Iron Bowl–Alabama vs Auburn game–and even though I was raised an Alabama fan, going to The University of Alabama for college makes it even more special to root for Alabama!


What I’m looking forward to next month…
CHRISTMAS EVERYTHING


What else is new…
Not much is new!  I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by and that December is next week–is that a sign of getting older when I feel like the years are flying by?!

Weekend Recap: Weekend Before Thanksgiving!

This past weekend was a pretty important weekend around the state of Alabama…..
Yep, it was opening day of gun season, so this picture pretty much represents my life (and lots of my friends’ lives) for the next couple of months!  At least I really like eating deer meat 🙂

My weekend started off on Friday….
 with a visitor to my classroom!  Since Dustin was leaving before I got out of school Friday, he stopped by during my planning period to visit.


 I did a good bit of Christmas decorating Friday evening (i.e. decorating the tree) in between watching two episodes of Grey’s to get caught up.  


Saturday
A cold front had officially hit Alabama–I’m talking waking up to temps in the 30s–so I did a quick Hilliard Studio Method video in my room.  I love this mother daughter team and love that they’ve created videos so that I can benefit from their workouts even though they are located in Charlotte!



 Then I got ready for the day to head out shopping.  Please ignore the two piles of clothes I had separated to wash at a later time.



 I love the hi-lo hem of my shirt.  Even better?  It’s a sweatshirt!



 The damage done = not that much.  There were so many people in Hobby Lobby that I grabbed a couple of items and left.



 I finished my inside decorating.  You can see a little sneak peek of my tree in the back!



 And I randomly walked by the fridge and noticed my water glass.  Side note:  Our fridge has an automatic water dispenser that senses when your glass is full.  So you press the button and can walk away, and it plays a little song when your glass is full.  I fill up my water and forget about it ALL THE TIME and it drives Dustin crazy.  So when I walked by and found this Saturday, I had to snap a pic and send it to him.  He loves me anyway haha!

I finished the night by watching Hallmark and going to bed early.  I had planned on going over to my dad’s house to watch the fight he bought on PPV, but the main event didn’t start until 10:30 eek!


Sunday
 Church attire….notice I’m only down to one pile ha!

 Dustin got home from his hunting club and washed (and dried) his 4 wheeler.  If you follow me on IG (@saraheshaneyfelt), you probably saw the story.



 We went to eat at my mom’s and I forgot to snap a picture of everyone there.
And I’m trying to pull off the red lipstick trend.  Does it work for me?



 Trying to rig the garland up without drilling into the brick.



And we finished the night with it up (for now) and watching a little tv/reading Southern Living before going to bed early.  Perfect end to the weekend before Thanksgiving!

Friday Favorites!!

Happy Friday, y’all!  I’m looking forward to a weekend of resting…and putting up Christmas decorations and cleaning and watching Hallmark movies and catching up on my DVR…you know, the usual ha!  Oh, and add in exercise because I need to definitely do that this weekend!  

Today I’m sharing with you a few of my favorite things!

Here’s a little candid from some photos we took on Tuesday afternoon for our Christmas card.  Well, I’m not completely satisfied (I don’t think), so we may end up redoing these Wednesday.  Nothing like last minute!  #storyofmylife  



I asked Dustin to bring our Christmas decorations downstairs on Monday.  I got home that afternoon and walked into everything piled in our living room.  Because we’ve had something every night since then and I’ve had sporadic times to work on decorating, our house looks like a war zone.  Time to hurry up and get everything in place!



Literally my favorite breakfast: Ezekiel muffins, natural peanut butter, and chia seeds.  YUMMY.



My dad sent me a picture of my grandfather wearing a shirt my dad bought him while we were in New Orleans and my grandfather was waving in the picture.  So I sent him a waving picture back.  

And after looking at this picture, I see my mom waving to me like this in the halls of my elementary school.  #iammymother
