Weekend Recap!

Wow!  What a weekend!  I feel like I got zero rest and that I need to sleep about 14 hours to catch up on lost sleep.  I’ve already started thinking about next weekend and if I’ll get to sleep in any, but I won’t at all because Dustin and I have something really fun that we’re doing!  Maybe I’ll sleep the next weekend ha!

My dad had surgery Thursday, so Thursday was the longest day of my life.  He stayed overnight in the hospital and my sister (who’s a nurse) stayed with him.  I had to go to work Friday, so I left the hospital Thursday night to come home.  Dad had just gotten home right before I got through with school Friday so I spent the afternoon with him, went to the grocery store, and then went back to his house that evening.

Dustin got home 8:30ish Friday night after dropping his buck off at the processor.  I think I went to bed at 9:30 Friday night which was way later than I wanted to.
 We were up bright and early Saturday morning because Dustin forgot to turn his alarm off 😏.  We went to the gym together and then I had to get coffee if I was going to make it that day.  Then I finished up grocery shopping and went back to my dad’s to stay with him for a while.


 We went and saw 12 Strong that evening and it was SO good!  I highly recommend it, and at the end of the movie, they had some writing on the screen that said that there’s also a book written about that military mission–Horse Soldiers.  It’s definitely a book I want to read.  Oh, and we went to the theater with recliners and it was my favorite!


 I am a huge proponent of wearing comfy clothes to the movies, but since it was a Saturday night and we were going out to eat after, I couldn’t just wear leggings and tennies.  This is my favorite nice-comfy outfit.



Anyone use this foundation?  I currently use the Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation and I’m looking for something with a little more coverage.

Dustin was called into work Sunday so I went to church by myself, caught up on a few tv shows, went to my dad’s, and then D and I went to celebrate my stepdad’s birthday that evening.

Friday Favs!

Happy Friday, y’all!  Today’s post is short and sweet!

I watch Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and it’s got me wanting to redecorate our home completely!  That’s definitely never happening, so I’ve started thinking about what we’ll do when we build our next house.  I love the white with black interior windows or railings–basically Emily Jackson’s home haha!  Dustin isn’t on board, but he always wasn’t on board with anything I picked out for our current home until he saw it all together.

 I finally got to wear this dress to school this week.  It’s 50% off now so it’s less than $30!  I would definitely say it runs true to size.  I’m 5’7″ and the length is just long enough to wear to school–any shorter and it wouldn’t be appropriate.


 My Walmart workout tank and Target cropped pants look like a complete matching set.  I wore this to the gym Wednesday, and I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but matching workout clothes give me the extra boost to have a great workout!

Coffee Talk

Hi friends!  Let’s pretend we’re getting coffee at a coffee shop and chatting over a skinny vanilla latte!
Trying the new blonde espresso!  And please ignore my bedroom.  I wash our sheets every Sunday, and Dustin leaves his clothes everywhere every day.

-I’ve heard that using purple shampoo for blonde hair makes your hair blonder.  Is that true, and if so, where can I buy it?!

-I’ve been watching Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian since the very first episode.  Watching it always motivates me to eat better and work out harder (or work out at all ha).  Anyone else feel the same way?

-Speaking of Khloe and her awesome show, I have been feeling horrible about my own body  since last month.  IVF has really affected my hormones and my weight.  I’m really trying to give myself some grace during this time, but I’ll be honest, it’s hard.  I’ve thought about writing a post about this but I’m not sure.

-I’m embarrassed to say this, but I just got my flu shot Sunday.  So if you’re like me, it’s not too late!!  The flu epidemic in Alabama is pretty scary, and I’m trying to protect myself and those around me.

-I watched a Hallmark movie from the fall that I recorded but hadn’t seen yet.  It was called Harvest Wedding (it was new this past fall), and it was so good!  Y’all know I love Hallmark movies, but yes, some are boring and so predictable (even for me).  But Harvest Wedding was so, so good!!

-I’ve been getting lots of compliments about my hair ever since I’ve started using my new wand to curl it.  This is the exact wand I have!  It’s wonderful!
