Fall Bucket List!

Woohoo!  So excited that today kicks off mine and Emily’s Fall Favorites Link Up!  If you’ve created a fall bucket list, link your post below and I’ll be reading them over the next couple of days!
I cannot wait to experience fall with Harrison and the holidays it entails.  I love celebrating anything, so I’m really looking forward to these new experiences with him…especially since he’s so alert now and really take things in!

  • Pumpkin Patch photos
  • Make our Christmas card photo  (I bought this for Harrison and now I’ve got to figure out what I’m going to wear….and Dustin, too LOL)
  • Visit a jack o’lantern walk in Nashville
  • Watch both the Halloween and Thanksgiving Charlie Brown movies
  • Dress Harrison up in a Halloween costume to hand out candy
  • Make homemade applesauce
  • Carve pumpkins one night
  • Make homemade chex mix for a football game
  • Take Harrison to his first hometown football game
  • Visit a new-to-us brewery
I know I am leaving something out ha!  Looking at all of y’all’s lists will help me remember what I should add to ours 🙂

Fall Brings a Fresh Start

I’ve always loved this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald (one of my favorite American authors), but it hasn’t really rang true until I started getting older.  Other than my birthday, fall was a season I didn’t look forward to because it meant school and colder weather, and this southern girl loved hot summers.

But this fall has felt different.  August really was just a terrible month for me.  I dealt with so many changes and transitions–being away from Harrison for the first time, Harrison going to preschool, and then when he contracted the stomach virus, it threw off all normalcy with him because my goal literally was for him to just hold down any sort of liquids.

Today I’m coming off of a long holiday weekend and starting a new month, and things feel like a fresh start.  The house is decorated for fall, I’m burning fall candles, and in my mind, I’ve left summer behind.  I know this is a ton of rambling, but is anyone else feeling this way too?
