Friday Faves!

Happy Friday!  It’s definitely happy because it’s my last Friday to work of the semester!  My last day is next Thursday and that can’t get here fast enough!!

Tuesday our entire school filmed a music video!  It was so fun and I can’t wait to see the final product.  We had to wear something Christmasey–red and green or ugly sweaters and I went the ugly sweater route.


Except that my students didn’t understand that it was an ugly sweater.  I had to explain that I don’t like cats which made it an ugly Christmas sweater.  #7thgrade



My mom’s birthday was Tuesday, so that night I changed out of my ugly sweater and put on my FAVORITE sweater!!!  I wish I had another one of these because it’s the best sweater ever!!  I bought it when it went on sale for 40% off for maybe 4-5 days.  I would have bought two if I would have had another gift card because, you know, saving for an adoption haha!!  I’ll buy another one next year 😜  Also, I’m wearing my “namesake” jean and they are on sale!  I’m a self-admitted jean snob and usually don’t wear cheap jeans, but I like these!



She makes 59 look good!!!  And she’s also really embarrassed in this picture because she had no idea they were going to put that hat on her!

Rachel and I met up for coffee Wednesday afternoon after she worked PRN for hospice and I get done with school.  LOVE coffee dates with my sister!!



My small group got together Wednesday night for our FAVORITE Things Christmas party!!  We ate good, had Emily’s famous cheesecake, and each left with 4 presents–it’s such a fun tradition we’ve started that I’m always looking forward to each Christmas season!



Yesterday was my dad’s 65th birthday so we celebrated at my house!!  I cooked supper and Rachel had the cake made to look like his new Medicare card–yay for retirement!!!  We had a fun time celebrating dad!  He’s excited about 65–retirement and his first grand baby!!!



And just for fun, Tuesday morning lots of school systems (except ours) delayed for the freezing temps and ice on the roads (remember, the South isn’t used to this!!!).  We had a freezing fog and I snapped this as I was headed to school and Dustin was taking out the trash.  No filter–it’s really gray out there haha!  And Dustin might have to start his own fashion blog 😜

Friday Faves!

Today’s Friday Favorites post will be short and sweet with my first FAVORITE being that it’s FRIDAY!!!  It has felt like the longest week and I need a day to sleep in 😊

 Last night I made Shay’s Salted Caramel Mocha bundt cake to take to school today.  I tried a small slice and it might be my favorite cake yet!!  It was pretty easy to make.  I actually ended up cutting the icing recipe in half, so I can’t imagine what it would look like if I would have made what it called for!


Speaking of Shay, she shared her Christmas home tour this week.  Her house is so pretty!!



I love roasting veggies in the oven.  I usually do broccoli, cauliflower, and a red onion.  I use this knife that i got last year from Dustin for Christmas to chop everything.  It makes such a difference chopping veggies when you have a great knife.


Has anyone been watching Mallory Ervin’s Vlogmas?  I’ve been texting with my friend Emily and we are dying to see what her new house is going to look like!

Friday Faves!!

Happy Friday, y’all!!!  I am in the BEST mood today because today is my last day of school before Thanksgiving break and this is the first year we get an entire week off of school for Thanksgiving!  WHAT!?  I’m SO SO excited!!

I plan on working on a gift guide or two for y’all over the break!

Since today is Friday, I’m sharing a few of my FAVORITES with y’all!

 We put the Christmas tree up on Monday because I put it up around Veteran’s Day every year.  Christmas is my FAVORITE and the decorations make my house feel so joyful and merry!



 As soon as I saw this photo this week, I immediately saved it to my phone.  I hope y’all thought of me when y’all saw it too because you know my obsession with the royals and specifically, Megan 😍  She is #goals.  And because I really am so obsessed, I listen to the Royally Obsessed podcast every Thursday morning and y’all should too 😜



 My sweet friend Maribeth brought me a gift to school on Tuesday and said she’d been holding it until we got matched!  It was the cutest hooded bath towel and wash rag that matched the gown that we used to announce our adoption!  It was the sweetest and most thoughtful gift!



I love that my sister works from home now because we can meet up after school on random week days to grab coffee together!


I got Nordstrom’s Christmas catalog in the mail yesterday, so the next few things are items that would either work as Christmas gifts or gifts for yourself ha!


I’ve learned that these colors look great with blue eyes and I really want to try Charlotte Tilbury make up.


I hate to admit this, but I don’t own a pair of holiday pajamas and I also don’t own a pair of matching pajamas 🙈  I thought these were so cute and the price tag isn’t bad at all–plus, these could be worn all winter long!


I also wanted to share this sweater with y’all!!  I bought this during the 2017 anniversary sale and it’s a favorite sweater.  It’s now 40% off!!  I do wear it with a cami underneath to school because of the back.
