Friday Favorites

I am in full on summer mode because I totally forgot about yesterday being Thursday. So here I am on Friday at 11:00 AM writing this blog post after Harrison left to go spend the night with my mom and stepdad and Banks is playing on the floor. It’s going to be really sad when July 31st gets here and I have to go back to school–way too soon!

As always, I’m sharing a few of my FAVORITES with y’all today!

ONE

On July 4th, we ate lunch up at my mom’s and for the first time, had zero plans for the night AND I WAS NOT UPSET ABOUT THAT AT ALL! After both boys went to bed, we kept hearing fireworks that sounded a lot closer than the fireworks we had been hearing since July 1st (insert eye roll emoji ugh). We found out that people at the end of our street were shooting fireworks in the street so we grabbed out chairs and sat out in the driveway watching fireworks just the two of us haha!

TWO

I am very much obsessed with this show! I finally finished both seasons a few days ago and I am so excited about season 3 coming out on July 20! I had to get past their terrible southern accents at first (like Chris Klein who plays Bill–his is the worst!), but past that, the show is wonderful and such a feel good friend show!

THREE

Speaking of Sweet Magnolias…

Did you know that Joanna Garcia Swisher has a lifestyle blog? It’s called The Happy Place and it’s got some good stuff! She’s got some healthy recipes, wellness posts, and really great gift guides. If you like the show, you should check it out!

FOUR

I posted the other day about how important this cup has been in making sure I drink lots of water throughout the day without having to refill it a hundred times. Well, I just saw they released a new Varsity Collection of the 30oz tumbler and they are REALLY CUTE!! These would be perfect for middle or high school girls. I’d even love one to throw in a bag because you don’t have to worry about it leaking!

FIVE

This is a show that Dustin and I both like watching together. Season 2 premiered the other day, so we watched episode 1 last night. I can’t wait to see the storyline this season! Have you watched The Lincoln Lawyer?

SIX

I am extremely picky about my pillow and I have needed one forever! I have tried some from Target and other cheap stores and finally bit the bullet and bought this pillow after our bedding from there was phenomenal! This pillow is going to be delivered this afternoon and I will report back about how it sleeps. There’s a free 30 day trial so I can return it just in case, but I’m really hoping it’s as great as I think it will be.

Wow, already Friday again and almost the end of June–this summer is flying by way too fast :). Here’s to hoping for sunny weather this weekend instead of the gross, dreary, rainy weather we’ve experienced all week.

Today, I’m sharing a few of my FAVORITES with y’all!

ONE

I LOVE our local library! This summer we’ve been going to the local library every Thursday for the summer reading program. It’s been focused on the theme of community helpers. Yesterday a local dentist was there to read a book and talk about teeth. After, the kids went outside to participate in the cutest teeth-themed obstacle course–Harrison had the best time and was so excited about the obstacle course! Banks slept through it ha!

TWO

I came across these acrylic frames that are so cute and I plan on getting some for art for the boys’ rooms. Reviews say it’s not too hard to hang, so these look like a good investment to me!

THREE

Yesterday I shared a post about hopping on the new tennis skirt trend, and so this skirt is for sure a FAVORITE this week! I’ve worn in a ton already and would love to get another color or two. I talk more about sizing and fit in this post.

FOUR

Anyone else a fan of Suits? My mom and I started watching Suits together because of Meghan Markle, but we loved the show so much that even after she left the show, we both continued watching and LOVED! The writing is great; the characters’ chemistry and dynamics are great; it’s just all around a really enjoyable show and one of my favorites ever! If you haven’t watched yet, you really need to!

FIVE

Harrison made a fort and wanted Banks to be in his fort with him. Now that Banks is becoming more mobile (I.e. army crawls himself wherever he wants to go), Harrison has really started playing with him. This makes me more excited for the future when I pray they are the best of friends and love playing together.

SIX

I got my eyebrows touched up on Tuesday and wow, what a difference it makes! About 2 years ago, I had my eyebrows micro bladed/powder brow combo. It totally changed my face because she was able to give me an arch which was like an instant eye lift! While my brows still held color really well, it was time for a touch up and I’m thrilled with the results!

We’re back for another Friday FAVORITES! Dustin is finally off work this weekend, so that’s definitely a favorite. Today we’ve got a bunch of random things around the house to get done or groceries to buy, but tomorrow we’re headed to see the Blue Angels! I’ll try to IG our day tomorrow, so you can see them too!

Speaking of seeing the Blue Angels tomorrow, we’ll be outside in the sun for a long time tomorrow. Since Banks is going to be with my mom while we’re at the show, I’m going to bring his stroller fans for us to use when we get too hot. I bought 2 of these when Harrison was a newborn and these fans are still going strong! They’ve even traveled with us to the beach and Disney World!

I shared this on my LTK not too long ago and wanted to share here, too. My favorite time to do my quiet time is in the morning right after I make my cup of coffee. If I don’t have a particular study book that I’m going through, I’ll read from my Bible first (also making sure I’m reading the commentary, too) and then I’ll read some sort of theological book after. You can follow my LTK page here! I plan on updating it this summer.

Harrison spent the night at my Mom’s house Sunday night, so Banks was by himself. Monday morning he decided it was time he played with his big brother’s toys haha! Banks is only 4 months old, but the things he can do are so developmentally advanced that I’m really wanting him to stop ha! He has been rolling all over for a while now, and now he can army crawl. That’s what he did to get to Harrison’s toy.

When Harrison was this age, we were cheering him on as he learned to roll from belly to back. He didn’t start army crawling until September/October, so we definitely cannot leave Banks unsupervised on the floor anymore!

Anyone else watch this on Prime? I remember watching the Duggars when they had their first special on TLC. After that, I watched all of their shows. I always found it weird that they didn’t believe in TV but were on a TV show. I also used to feel sorry for the girls because they were always wearing long dresses or skirts. After watching the documentary, I was SICKENED. I felt like the religious beliefs they ascribed to were a “Christian” version of Scientology. I could not believe how evil Jim Bob is, and I still don’t understand why Anna Duggar is still married to Josh. Such an oppressive religion.
