I’m so very excited to share the March home for House Tour Tuesday! These really have become some of my favorite blog posts, and I know I have a lot of readers who absolutely love the House Tour posts!
Today we’re touring Lindsay’s home! We graduated high school together and Lindsay now lives in south Alabama with her husband ON THE LAKE! Her house is decorated so beautifully, and as you are scrolling through the pictures, remember she lives ON THE LAKE and you’ll be even more jealous of her! Haha!
I love that Lindsay and her husband have completed some DIY projects together and that lots of places in her home have a story. Let’s check it out!
I love the way she did her house number on her front door!
The Easter decorations in the entryway are the best–I need to do this!
Front guest bedroom
This is artwork done by a student at the previous school she taught at before marrying her husband and moving schools. Lindsay teaches special education.
The next couple of pictures are of Lindsay’s MASSIVE laundry room! I would welcome doing laundry in a room this nice.
I’m so glad this picture is here because now I know how I’m going to hang my broom and swiffer in my laundry room!
The other guest bedroom–I love how she has two gorgeous guest rooms! I guess you kind of need to if you live on the lake 🙂 Always open for visitors!
Lindsay and her husband, Alan, built these bookshelves.
This pillow was made out of a shirt from Lindsay’s grandfather who passed away recently. This is such a sweet memory to always have!
This is the hallway to the lake-themed guest bedroom and guest bath. Don’t you love the wall of crosses?
Notice the monogram on the stool? I need that in my life!
The master bedroom area is a dream!
Lindsay’s husband proposed to her with around 300 notecards and she framed her favorites. He wrote down things he loves about her or something they did on a certain day. Isn’t that so sweet?
The kitchen, living room, and bar area are an open floor plan. (I love an open floor plan which is why we have one in our house!)
The metal sign below was seen on Fixer Upper!!!!
Lindsay’s husband, Alan, built this coffee table. It looks like it’s straight out of Restoration Hardware!
And now for the outdoors! Prepare to be jealous 🙂
I need ceiling fans like the ones below!
Thank you, Lindsay, for letting us into your home! You have all of us drooling and ready for summer to hurry up and get here!
Like the rest of my House Tour Tuesdays, Lindsay answered a few questions for us!
1. What’s your favorite thing about your house?
The favorite thing about my house is that my husband, Alan, and I remolded the kitchen, built the kitchen table, coffee table, and shelves in the guest bedroom and bar area. It was a lot of fun to work together! I joke around all the time saying that I’m never going to want to move because of all the memories we have making our house a home! The lake isn’t such a bad thing either!:)
2. If you were to build again, what is something that you would do differently?
When we build in the future, we would like to have a bigger master bathroom. We would also love to have a bigger kitchen with an island- we LOVE to entertain. Thanks to HGTV, I would also hand pick where wall plugs go, different doors for the laundry room or pantry, and would add some brick accents in the house. I have a feeling HGTV and Joanna Gains will get me in lots of trouble in the future.
3. What’s your favorite memory that you have made in your house?
We already have so many sweet memories in our house! My favorite memories is just having friends and family over to the house of hot summer days to relax on the lake. We love getting all the lake toys out and spending the entire day on the water. We also love to have fires at night and roast marshmallows and hot dogs. Another sweet memory was that we actually had our wedding rehearsal at our house. It was such a special time!
4. Any plans for your house in the future?
Yes! Actually, we just built window planters for the front three windows and are in the process of staining them. We are also going to start staining the porches and dock in the next couple of weeks as well. I am also going to paint the swing on the front porch to match our red door! Lastly, we are going to make an area to grill/hangout off the back porch.I feel like we are ALWAYS doing something to the house. I guarantee my husband already has our next projects planned!
5. What’s your favorite store to shop for home décor?
Oh, man… I love to shop. I usually shop at TJMAXX, Hobby Lobby, and Target. I also absolutely LOVE flea markets and antique stores. If I could go the the Nashville flea market every weekend… I would!!:)
If I had all the money in the world… Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware would be my all time favorites! I love the days I get lucky and find something cute on sale! Oh… the joys of being a teacher! 🙂
