Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday!!! Today I’m sharing a quick recap of our weekend. It was a pretty normal fall weekend for us, and we had beautiful weather!

Friday night Harrison had a soccer game at 6:30, but I didn’t get any pictures because I had been battling a terrible headache and didn’t keep my phone out for the game. His team tied.

Saturday morning, Harrison and Dustin left the house at 6:30 am and we…

…relaxed in our pjs for a little bit!!! We had a slow morning before we got dressed to go walk with the stroller.

Harrison and Dustin went to the Alabama game (I won’t be going until later this season!), and Dustin sent me a few pictures of Harrison. He said it was super hot and they ended up leaving during the 3rd quarter.

The babies and I went downtown and did a little shopping and walking around with my mom.

Later that night, I went to the movies with some friends, and we brought our Starbucks in haha. All I wanted was a coffee while I watched a late movie.

We watched the last Downton Abbey movie and it was really good! I have loved just the entire storyline of Downton Abbey and I’m sad that it’s over. I think they ended it well.

We went to church Sunday morning, and I sent this to a friend after she and I had discussed the end times one day walking back to our classroom from lunch 🙂

Merritt has no time for pictures these days. She’s a busy girl on the go!

I took Harrison to a birthday party that afternoon. Then I grabbed supper on the way home, bathed 2/3 kids, did homework with Harrison, got everyone dressed and ready for bed, and did bedtime routine with everyone. Only then was it time for me to shower and get ready for bed. I stayed up later than I should have–my goal these next few days is to get more rest!

An August Recap

It’s finally the start of my favorite time of the year: September to December! Today I’ll be decorating for fall and watching It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with my kids 🙂

Since I didn’t blog much in August, I thought it would be nice to recap the entire month since we had a lot going on….school, soccer, and our first lost tooth!

I took a picture of everyone to start the month off, and based on Harrison’s expression, you can tell he was ready for me to get the shot ha! Banks never wants to look at the camera and Merritt loves to look at her brothers, so I’m constantly telling Harrison to just smile while yelling, “Look at me! Look at Momma!” haha!

We spend our last Saturday of summer with the kids at a photo shoot for our local children’s boutique. We owned the last outfit they modeled (these Alabama clothes), so we kept them on and drove out to the Mennonite bakery for a sandwich. I stayed in the car with the babies since it was packed, and to keep everyone entertained, I put on DannyGo songs and Banks danced for Merritt 🙂

Everyone started back to school (including me) and it broke my heart because I loved the time I got with them this summer break. It just wasn’t long enough! Harrison is in 1st grade. Banks is in the 2 year old class. Merritt is in the 1 year old class.

I took this selfie to send to my friends since I’m obsessed with this show but have never read the books. This is probably the first time I’ve ever said this, but skip the books and just watch the show. So much better!

I bought Merritt some new fall clothes and snapped this picture to send to my mom and best friend. It’s fun to buy girl clothes! There’s always way more options for girls than there are for boys, and while I really love dressing my boys, shopping for girls is much easier because of the amount of options.

Harrison is playing soccer again this year (year 3) and I LOVE IT!! I hate to say it, but I love soccer season more than baseball season. So much more action and I can actually watch more of the game while the babies are playing on the sidelines. With baseball, I’m having to push them around in the stroller constantly, and I barely get to watch Harrison’s games.

Harrison and Dustin went to a Trash Panda baseball game one week night and it was the highlight of Harrison’s week! He loved it!

He lost his first tooth!!!!!! He let me pull it one night after dinner, and it just popped out! It was an exciting time in our house and he definitely feels like a big boy now that he’s lost a tooth.

Alabama may have lost their first football game, but at least the Shaneyfelt kids looked cute!

Another big happening this month was that Merritt learned to walk! She was a little behind on walking, so we took her to physical therapy. She would walk holding onto the furniture, but she would never walk on her own. After her first appointment, we had a few exercises to do with her. No lie, her walking picked up immediately after that! She “graduated” PT after 3 appointments and the therapist said she was the quickest graduating patient she’d ever had! She really just needed those exercises at the beginning to give her the confidence to walk on her own. Now she’s a walking machine! Harrison will say, “Merritt’s a walking girl!”

Now I’m off to exercise and get those fall decorations out! Happy September!

Friday Favorites!

Long time no see, friends!!! I have missed blogging so much this month, but being back at school is kicking my tail! Over the summer, I took a nap pretty much every single day when the babies napped and while Harrison had his quiet rest time. I can tell that I am missing my daily nap because it is so hard for me to get up each morning when the alarm goes off at 4:45. Dustin hops up and I usually don’t get up until 5 ha

I am OBSESSED with this show!! I’m kicking myself for putting off watching it for so long. I always just thought that it was for teenagers (and I guess it is but who cares), but my best friend finally convinced me to watch it this summer. (I started this and I convinced her to watch Silo on AppleTV). I am Team Conrad 1000000%! I love how Jenny Han puts all of these “Easter eggs” in the show and I follow a few people on IG now who analyze each episode. My English major heart loves that. I’ve had great conversations on IG with so many people about this show, and I’ll be so sad when it’s over in a few weeks! Please tell me if you’re watching it!

Harrison is playing soccer again this year (year 3!!) and this is his best year ever! He’s done great out there on the field! He scored two goals his first game, and last night he almost scored another. I really love soccer season–and I never thought I would!

Speaking of soccer season, Harrison’s biggest fans love the snacks that come along with watching him play haha! This season we’re playing soccer on the baseball fields while the city works on the soccer fields, so last night the babies played on the infield while Harrison played soccer on the outfield.

And we’ve got a false fall going on right now, so the weather was the most enjoyable ever!! It’ll be really hard to go back to the hot weather we’re used to right now when this false fall is over.

I’m loving this new polo dress I got this year! It looks shorter here in this picture because of the angle, but I’m also 5’7″ so keep that in mind. I think it’ll be great to wear to Tuscaloosa this football season and I love that the flounce hem makes it stand out from the normal polo dress.

I also have started using this clean lip crayon! I got the color PAMPAS to start with and I’m definitely going to be adding to my collection. Once I found out lipstick has formaldehyde in it (along with other toxic chemicals), I new I needed to hurry and find a clean swap. This one is also hydrating so my lips aren’t dried out while wearing it.

Okay, short and sweet today! I’m off to enjoy a library day with my students and then a THREE DAY WEEKEND!!!! Woohoo!!!
