My First Time Experience With Hydrafacial at Silver Stone Salon Spa

I am always looking for ways to improve my skin.  I battle with the monthly break out, have an oily t-zone, and have sun damage from the years when I didn’t care about using sunscreen.  Ugh, I cringe just thinking about how ignorant I was.

Now that I’m 30–and soon to be 31 🙈–I realize that the face I have is the only face I will ever have so I better take care of it because I’m not getting another one!

When I found out that my local salon, Silver Stone, was starting to offer hydrafacials, I was so intrigued and excited to try a new facial technique to help my skin look bright and youthful.  If you’ve never had a hydrafacial or if you’ve never heard of it, then you will want to get one ASAP because after my experience, I’m hooked!

This was everything that came out of my skin after the facial!

I wasn’t sure what to expect so I’m really excited to be able to explain it to all of y’all!  And I know that you’re going to want to go get one as soon as you make it through this post!  PS…If you’re local, stick around until the end because there’s something awesome for you!

These were the steps of my facial:
1. Lymphatic drainage–this was done using suction and I could really tell a difference when she was doing it over my sinus cavities above and below my eyes and it’s like the pressure I was feeling was lessened greatly after that.

2. Exfoliation–this was done using one of exfoliating tips on the wand

3. Peel–this was done using another tip on the wand.  The peel is not like a chemical peel so it’s not going to make your face peel and you don’t have to stay out of the sun for days after.

4. Extractions–this was done using another tip on the wand.  Whitney used this in my t-zone which is where a lot of my big pores are and even some black heads.  I felt so clean after this because I knew she had just taken all of the junk out of my skin!

5. Booster–she uses another tip on the hydrafacial wand for this.  I got the Britinol since I struggle with sun spots and overall just needed my skin brighter from discoloration.  She also has a booster she can use for fine lines and wrinkles if you have those.

6. LED light therapy–this was the neatest part and concept to me!  Whitney used the red light on my skin since I have slight redness to my skin.  If you struggle with acne, she can use the blue light, or she can use both!  I felt like this part was extremely relaxing and beneficial to my skin after the tools she used with the other parts of the hydrafacial.

7.Antiox-+–Whitney called this part the “liquid gold” because it’s used to help your face look younger!  She used another tip on the hydrafacial wand to apply.  This felt really refreshing on my skin!

8. Daily Essentials–after the main part of your hydrafacial is over, Whiney applied oil free moisturizer, an antiox-+ daily (more liquid gold!), and a sunscreen to my face.

 Overall, my skin looks so much brighter and youthful looking!

I can really tell a difference in the overall brightness of my face and especially around my nose and my forehead!!

Can you tell how much brighter and youthful my skin looks?  This was after just one facial so imagine what my skin could look like after two?!

I feel like if you really want to take care of your skin and invest in helping your skin to look good, then this facial is for you!

You can really tell a difference on the picture below!  Same back drop, same lighting.  The picture on the left was right after she washed the make up off of my face, and the picture on the right is right after my hydrafacial.

Adoption Update!

Hey y’all!  It’s been a while since I’ve done an adoption update and we’ve had a bunch of people ask us where we are in the process, so that’s what I’m doing today!

Last night we had our bbq plate fundraiser, and we met our goal of selling 200 plates!  Over half of the people who bought plates from us showed up within the first 30 minutes, so needless to say, the first 30 minutes were crazy–but fun!

We’re taking a break on fundraising right now until the end of November/early December.  Then we’ve got an advent market we’re part of and we have a gorgeous quilt my aunts made that we’re going to raffle off then, too.  As always, our paypal account is still open for any donations
Our goal is to take out a loan for the least amount of money we possibly can, and we’re so incredibly grateful for those of y’all (some of y’all are blog readers that I’ve never met!!) who have been so kind to us and donated.  Every little bit has truly helped.

So where are we now in the process?

We’re still waiting to be matched.  
We’re seeing cases throughout the week but not all of those cases meet our criteria….like budget.  A lot have been over our budget, so we’ve had to say no to being presented, and some within our budget didn’t meet criteria in another area.

I was so excited to get to this point and finally see these cases, but I wasn’t prepared for how difficult it would be.  It’s difficult in that I can’t say yes to every case we see.  If budget weren’t an issue, we’d say yes to a lot more cases!  It’s also difficult in that when you finally do say yes and then you hear that the birth mom has chosen someone else, you wonder what it was about you that she didn’t like–or at least that’s how I felt the first few times we were told no.  Now I understand and know that it’s because that baby wasn’t in God’s plan for our lives, but when emotions are high, it’s easy to blame yourself on why you weren’t picked.

Please keep praying for us during this process!  
-Please pray as we wait and that we can glorify God in the waiting (instead of complaining like I default to sometimes!)
 -Pray for discernment as we receive cases weekly 
-Pray for the birth mom who will choose us in that she has a peace over her decision and that we’re able to share Christ with her if she isn’t a Believer
-Pray for our future baby

Friday Faves!

Happy Friday, y’all!  Princess Eugenie got married this morning and they showed the wedding live on TLC.  Anyone else get up to watch it?!  I didn’t get up at 3:25 am when it started but I did wake up to see parts of the ceremony.  TLC is replaying it this morning for those of you who want to watch it (and look for Meghan ha!).

I have a few FAVORITES to share with y’all today!

-I’ve had lots of people ask me about how I curl my hair.  I use this wand and I definitely use the glove that comes with it because it gets extremely hot.  I think the really hot temp keeps my hair curled for days.
-I use this hairspray after I curl my hair on the first day.  Then on following days when I only have to touch up a few pieces, I don’t use any or much hairspray.
-With my birthday coming up, I’ve been thinking about what I want.  I need some new sweaters and I basically love every sweater this brand puts out.


 I was off work Monday and Tuesday for fall break (hallelujah!) and since my sister works from home now, we were able to hang out Monday and Tuesday.  We went to an early morning appointment together and she brought her laptop to work on editing pictures while we waited.


 My mom was in Michigan because my uncle passed away, so she facetimed us while I drove us home.  Rachel told Mom to smile and she either didn’t hear us or was too busy putting on her makeup to be in our picture haha!


 Tuesday I got to play photographer and take pictures of Rachel to celebrate her birthday on Wednesday.  I enjoyed us having the same schedule so we could hang out together.


Wednesday night we celebrated Rachel’s 27th birthday, and that means that my birthday is about two weeks away!  

I know this whole post centers around my sister but I saw her every day this week and that’s been a big FAVORITE because we have such a close relationship!

I haven’t done a favorite song in a while, but since I went to see A Star Is Born last weekend, I have thought so much about the soundtrack.  I ended up buying this song and have listened to it all week!
