This past weekend was glorious. After my first full week at school and my grad school term starting back, I needed this weekend in more ways than one. I was able to relax a little and get the million things done that I had on my To Do list.
Friday
Dustin worked nights this weekend so Friday night Rachel and I went to the re-opening of a local ice cream shop. It turns out that one of my student’s family owns this ice cream shop and they’ve spent the past several months re-building it. I saved up my points all day for this special treat and it did not disappoint. I accidentally got the wrong kind of ice cream because I was too busy talking to my student and his parents but what I got actually tasted pretty great.
After I left Rachel with a friend (I felt like her mom ha!), I stopped by Target on my way home to pick up a shower curtain for our upstairs bathroom. This will be the third shower curtain I’ve bought for that bathroom because if you know me, then you know that everything I want is white–and I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone and pick something with color for this bathroom. Nothing looked right so I bit the bullet and bought an all white shower curtain and it looks perfect.
While I was at Target I saw a display of the new Essie gel setter polish, and I had just read my favorite blogger, Shay’s, Friday Favorites post with this exact nail polish. I bought it and painted my nails that night. I forgot to take a picture of my nails but I am loving this polish. It’s very fallish but I’m so ready for fall right now that I don’t even care!
Saturday
Saturday morning I went to the gym and had a great workout session. I’ve been trying to incorporate more weights into my workouts and I was very pleased with my workout that morning.
Then I went over to my sister’s to photograph her house for September’s House Tour Tuesday post. (I’ll either post that September 1st or 8th.) I’m excited about this post since she’s in a rental house right now so you will get to see how someone is able to make a rental house homey. This is August’s House Tour Tuesday post.
Here is a sneak peek of Rachel’s house!
After Dustin headed to work Saturday evening, I headed to Huntsville do a little shopping before I met my mom and stepdad for dinner. I needed filler pillows for the shams for our new bedding and wanted to check out Home Goods for an upholstered bench for our living room.
I ended up getting everything I needed! I lucked out at Home Goods and found the perfect bench, but it happened to have a little stain on it–that you can’t see unless you are looking for it. I got them to discount the bench to where it was under the budget I had set for myself!! The only problem?? Fitting it into my car AND beating a thunderstorm that was on it’s way. There were a few nice people who stopped to ask if I needed help (I was wearing OTBT wedges and if you know what those look like, they are high! I’m sure I looked like a crazy woman!) and a few people stare at me ha! It took me a while but I managed to maneuver it into my car. I also had items in my front floor board and trunk. I put this on instagram (@saraheshaneyfelt)–I need an SUV!!
Here’s the bench in the house! I’m hoping to move that picture somewhere else and put a few pictures on that wall but when you build a house and are newly married, you don’t have much, so until then, the picture stays!
And a few of the other goodies I got at Home Goods! The Halloween plate to display in my kitchen during October (I already had the plate holder), the greenery for our bedroom, and the most beautiful glass pumpkin for fall decor! You can’t really tell, but the pumpkin is burnt orange at the bottom.
Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of my family eating Saturday night but it was yummy!
Sunday
Sunday was pretty laid back so I didn’t take any pictures. I went to church while Dustin slept since he worked off Sunday morning. I wasn’t feeling too great so I came home and napped while he went to his parents to get stuff ready to go work at his hunting land. He came home, we hung out after I woke up, I stopped by my dad’s after D left for work to see both of my sisters, went to Walmart, and watched the Hallmark movie channel–which is my favorite channel!
