What’s Up Wednesday–April 2017

Happy Wednesday, y’all!!  The months keep flying by and right now, that’s a good thing for me because it means my summer break is right around the corner.  Once July hits, I always pray for long, slow days haha!

What we’re eating this week…
Monday: Egg Roll in a Bowl  (a trusty fav of ours)
Tuesday: Roasted Veggie and Baked Egg Casserole

Wednesday: Mellow Mushroom for a fundraiser night

What I’m reminiscing about…


I shared all about our wedding (that happened 2.5 years ago ha) this month on the blog, and it was so fun reminiscing because it seriously was the best day ever!

Last Saturday we took a tour of a local goat cheese creamery, Belle Chèvre, and we had a blast!



What I’m dreading…
Absolutely nothing!!

Controlling my sweet tooth and fighting the urge to eat sweets.  Any tips are appreciated!

What I’m excited about…
SUMMER BREAK!!  I’m a teacher…need I say more?!

What’s Up Wednesday–March 2017

I’m going to pretend that today’s What’s Up Wednesday post doesn’t mean that my spring break is already half way over.  The weather has been so strange this week–cloudy, rainy, and maybe a little sun.  At least I’m not experiencing this weather in school, right?

What we’re eating this week…
Monday-Shay’s Mexibeef with quinoa and a jicama salad
Tuesday-Using my friend Erica’s pizza dough recipe to make veggie and turkey pepperoni pizzas!

What I’m reminiscing about…
Last year’s vacation because I’m so excited about this year’s vacation!  We aren’t going to the Bahamas again this summer, but Alabama beaches are just as pretty!




What I’m loving…
So many things!  Being out of school for spring break this week, this dry shampoo, lifting weights and watching my arms tone up, eating cleaner, waiting on my new JCrew order to arrive 🙌🙌


What we’ve been up to…
March hasn’t been super exciting–we booked our beach trip for this summer.  I took a cooking class Sunday night that was the most fun ever!


What I’m dreading…
Going back to school next week because we start state standardized testing and IT IS THE WORST



What I’m working on…
Eating cleaner and incorporating weights into my exercising to tone up, blogging more consistently, and being more intentional in my marriage to Dustin



What I’m excited about…
Lots of fun things coming up!!  Oh, and Southern Charm comes back on!



What I’m watching/reading…
Watching: When Calls the Heart, the Kardashians, RHOBH, Grey’s
Reading:  I’m posting my book review next week and I read one of the best books ever!  I’ve dubbed it my favorite book of 2017 so it’s going to take a lot to beat it this year



What I’m listening to…
I did a post on podcasts and so I’ve listened to a couple of episodes of The Big Boo Cast and have laughed during each one!



What I’m wearing…

I love a good blue top!  And can you spot my bff trying to get out of my pictures? 😂😂



 I really love the color of this dress–actually I’m loving blush everything–but this dress wasn’t flattering on me.

And if I’m not in the above, I’m in workout clothes!  It’s been nice working out whatever time I’ve wanted to this week instead of immediately after school



What I’m doing this weekend…
Dustin works so I’ll be extending my spring break mentality haha!  I have a book I hope to finish that I just started Monday night.  Sounds so exciting doesn’t it?



What I’m looking forward to next month…
We’ve got some fun stuff coming up and next month is another month closer to summer break!



What else is new…
Nothing really is new?  March obviously has been a so-so month for us at the Shaneyfelt household, and I’m not sad to see it end 😊

What’s Up Wednesday–February 2017

Hi friends!  I know I sound so much like a broken record when I say that I cannot believe that it’s already time for another What’s Up Wednesday post.  February has gone by fast, and that is fine with me!

What we’re eating this week…
Thanks to the girls at Her Heart and Home, I tried out egg roll in a bowl and it was SO GOOD!  We ate the leftovers the next day, and since we both loved these so much, I may make them again next week.  #dontjudge

We’re also eating this cheeseburger pie–another favorite in the Shaneyfelt household!



What I’m reminiscing about…
nothing??  I feel bad for not reminiscing this month but I’m only looking forward 🙂



What I’m loving…
Being able to have a workout buddy at the gym every day after school!
Yesterday neither one of us were feeling a workout at the gym but we both made each other go and left feeling so much better.  It’s really important to have some sort of accountability, and mine just happens to teach next door to me 😜



What we’ve been up to…
February has been a busy but fun month filled with lots of things…
 We worked out a lot, and together the few times we could.  And then I worked out by myself when D was at work.



 My church’s women’s ministry hosted a coffee house night with guest speaker, Brittany Price.



 We went on a date to watch a hockey game and ended up watching fights all night long–I loved it!!



 We spent lots of time together



 I was surprised with a sweet Valentine’s Day gift early in the morning before work.



 #wheredustinsleeps happened a few times this month



 I was featured on my real life friend, Erica’s, blog!



And I got to enjoy pretty days outside that didn’t feel like February

The return of cold weather



What I’m working on…
Growing my hair out?  Does that count as something I’m working on at the moment?  haha!



What I’m excited about…
Dustin and I are going on a beach trip with my mom, stepdad, sister, and brother in law in June.  My mom booked our condo and it’s pretty spacious.  Then Dustin’s parents are wanting to take a family vacation to Disney World in 2018, so I’m excited about all potential vacations!



What I’m watching/reading…
Watching: rewatching season 3 of When Calls the Heart while recording season 4 on tv, Summer House, This Is Us, Grey’s, Revenge Body

Reading: I quit reading Hillbilly Elegy and am looking for a new book to pick up.

I’m not sure!  Dustin is off this weekend, so I don’t know what our plans are going to be.

Bonus: What is my “can’t live without” beauty product?
I cannot live without my Laura Mercier translucent powder.  I have an oily t-zone, and I use a damp beauty blender to press this powder into those zones to keep my oil free for the whole day!  What can you not live without?  I’m always looking to try new makeup products!
