What’s Up Wednesday–February 2017

Hi friends!  I know I sound so much like a broken record when I say that I cannot believe that it’s already time for another What’s Up Wednesday post.  February has gone by fast, and that is fine with me!

What we’re eating this week…
Thanks to the girls at Her Heart and Home, I tried out egg roll in a bowl and it was SO GOOD!  We ate the leftovers the next day, and since we both loved these so much, I may make them again next week.  #dontjudge

We’re also eating this cheeseburger pie–another favorite in the Shaneyfelt household!



What I’m reminiscing about…
nothing??  I feel bad for not reminiscing this month but I’m only looking forward 🙂



What I’m loving…
Being able to have a workout buddy at the gym every day after school!
Yesterday neither one of us were feeling a workout at the gym but we both made each other go and left feeling so much better.  It’s really important to have some sort of accountability, and mine just happens to teach next door to me 😜



What we’ve been up to…
February has been a busy but fun month filled with lots of things…
 We worked out a lot, and together the few times we could.  And then I worked out by myself when D was at work.



 My church’s women’s ministry hosted a coffee house night with guest speaker, Brittany Price.



 We went on a date to watch a hockey game and ended up watching fights all night long–I loved it!!



 We spent lots of time together



 I was surprised with a sweet Valentine’s Day gift early in the morning before work.



 #wheredustinsleeps happened a few times this month



 I was featured on my real life friend, Erica’s, blog!



And I got to enjoy pretty days outside that didn’t feel like February 



What I’m dreading…
The return of cold weather



What I’m working on…
Growing my hair out?  Does that count as something I’m working on at the moment?  haha!



What I’m excited about…
Dustin and I are going on a beach trip with my mom, stepdad, sister, and brother in law in June.  My mom booked our condo and it’s pretty spacious.  Then Dustin’s parents are wanting to take a family vacation to Disney World in 2018, so I’m excited about all potential vacations!



What I’m watching/reading…
Watching: rewatching season 3 of When Calls the Heart while recording season 4 on tv, Summer House, This Is Us, Grey’s, Revenge Body

Reading: I quit reading Hillbilly Elegy and am looking for a new book to pick up.  
Any suggestions?



What I’m listening to…
Shane and Shane Psalms Live album–the best!



What I’m wearing…

What I’m doing this weekend…
I’m not sure!  Dustin is off this weekend, so I don’t know what our plans are going to be.



What I’m looking forward to next month…
SPRING BREAK!!!!



What else is new…
not much!


Bonus: What is my “can’t live without” beauty product?
I cannot live without my Laura Mercier translucent powder.  I have an oily t-zone, and I use a damp beauty blender to press this powder into those zones to keep my oil free for the whole day!  What can you not live without?  I’m always looking to try new makeup products!

What’s Up Wednesday–January 2017

If it weren’t for my friend Emily, I would have forgotten about it being the last Wednesday of the month, so I would have forgotten linking up today.  #ineedapersonalassistant #thanksemily

I know this makes me so much older by saying this BUT I cannot believe the first month of 2017 is almost over.  Usually January is the worst month because it last forever, but not this year.  To see my What’s Up posts for 2016, click here.

What we’re eating this week…
We ate out Monday, and last night I had a smoothie while Dustin had chicken salad.  Tonight is a knockoff cheeseburger helper pasta meal and tomorrow is salmon patties.



What I’m reminiscing about…
Last January, I was beginning my final stretch of grad school and starting my internship.  This January I don’t have to think about when assignments are due or writing papers!



What I’m loving…

 My new apple watch 2!  I got the gold watch with a cocoa band.



I’m loving Ivanka Trump’s style, and cannot wait to see everything she wears in the next 4 years.



What we’re been up to…

 We went to Memphis recently for a concert.



 I went hunting for the first time ever.  (And maybe the last??)



We deep-cleaned the house, and Dustin washed baseboards 🙌🙌



What I’m dreading…
I can’t think of anything I’m dreading!



What I’m working on…
Eating more intentionally and incorporating weight lifting into my workouts.



What I’m excited about…
Lots of fun things to come in the future!   And Grey’s starts back tomorrow night!



What I’m watching/reading…
Watching:  I’m obsessed right now with The Night Manager on Amazon.  I came home yesterday and watched 2 episodes before doing anything I needed to–it’s that good.  I’m also watching This Is Us and Grey’s and lots of reality tv–RHOBH, Ladies of London, Revenge Body, and Summer House.

Reading: Killing Kennedy, Knowing God, and Hillbilly Elegy



What I’m listening to…
Lots of Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, and the Avett Brothers Pandora station.



What I’m wearing…

 Still loving this sweater and these jeans (similar).

And I thought I might show y’all real life 😂  Dustin and I ran over to my dad’s house last night to hook up his Amazon Fire Stick and I had on running shorts and Dustin’s high school t-shirt.  So I threw on some Uggs and a Northface jacket.  So fashionable, right?!

A little shopping and resting!

A fun Nashville trip with my 2 besties!

I’m not a really big fan of The Bachelor (I know, I’m the only person), so maybe Ben since I can only compare his season to Juan Pablo’s–and no one likes JP!

What’s Up Wednesday–November 2016

Happy Wednesday, y’all!  I’m extra happy this Wednesday because today is my first day for Thanksgiving break!  Maybe one year we’ll get out all of Thanksgiving week like surrounding systems 🙂  A girl can dream, right?!

What we’re eating this week…
Last night I made taco soup for D and I ate a mini breakfast sandwich (anyone else make something for supper and then don’t feel like eating it?).
Tonight we’re eating grilled chicken strips and veggies.
Wednesday and Thursday we have Thanksgiving with both families.
Friday I’ll probably still be full and won’t want to eat ha!


What I’m reminiscing about…
Five years ago Friday was mine and Dustin’s first date!  It’s so crazy to think we started dating 5 years ago and just celebrated 2 years of marriage.  I plan on doing a little something to celebrate Friday night after Dustin gets off work!


What I’m loving…
I absolutely love this holiday season.  This is my favorite time of the year!  I love the memories made during this time of the year.

Other than finishing decorating for Christmas a few days ago, we haven’t really done anything special.


What I’m dreading…
I can’t think of anything I am dreading?!  After Thanksgiving break, we have 3 weeks left of school and that includes prepping for semester exams and giving them.  Kids will be a little stir crazy before getting out for Christmas!


What I’m working on…

What I’m excited about…
Visiting with family tonight and all day tomorrow!  Dustin and I have Thanksgiving meals Wednesday night, Thursday for lunch, and Thursday afternoon.  For the first time ever, we’re free on Thursday night so I am really looking forward to being at home together relaxing and watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (he thinks we’ll be watching football 😉 )


What I’m watching/reading…
Watching LOTS of Hallmark Christmas movies and I finished the winter season of Grey’s.  I really need to catch up on This Is Us!  Dustin and I like to watch it together and haven’t had time/he’s wanted to watch football during his free time.

I haven’t been reading much lately and am in need of a really good book rec!!

some Christmas music along with The Avett Brothers pandora station–my favorite!


What I’m wearing…



What I’m doing this weekend…
BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING!!!!  And with my mom!  I’m pretty excited about it!  Saturday is the Iron Bowl–Alabama vs Auburn game–and even though I was raised an Alabama fan, going to The University of Alabama for college makes it even more special to root for Alabama!


What I’m looking forward to next month…
CHRISTMAS EVERYTHING


What else is new…
Not much is new!  I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by and that December is next week–is that a sign of getting older when I feel like the years are flying by?!
