Friday Favorites

Happy Friday and Happy October!!! Today is going to be a great day because I took off today to spend the whole day with Dustin and Harrison! We’re going to a museum and out to lunch and then Dustin and I have a date tonight–so really a perfect day 🙂

Today I’m sharing a few FAVORITES with y’all!

I know I am so behind but Dustin and I just now started watching Lenox Hill. IT’S AMAZING! I have laughed and cried and right now as I’m typing, we are watching the very last episode. I highly recommend this show.

I figured out how to make my own Medicine Ball/Coldbuster drink that I like to get at Starbucks. I had one last night because my allergies are getting the best of me right now (anyone else?) and I’ve got a sore throat. It’s not the exact same, but it’s close enough and does the job. I fill a cup half full with lemonade (I use the Simply Less Sugar), put in a tea bag, and pour my hot water on top of it and let it steep until it’s cool enough for me to drink. It’s good!

I ordered a new Peloton sweatshirt for the colder weather. I really love my Peloton and am so glad Dustin got it for me last Christmas. I plan on doing a Peloton Q&A post soon, so please let me know if you have any questions about it!

We did dinner last weekend at my mom and stepdads house. They live on a farm so Harrison really loves all the animals. We had just looked at the chickens when Harrison wanted to talk with this calf haha!

I love getting texts like this while I’m at work and Dustin is off work with Harrison. Love that they are getting bonding time together! Before we adopted Harrison, I prayed for attachment with our baby because my experience becoming a mother wasn’t like everyone else’s. I wouldn’t get to bond with my baby while he/she was in my utero, and even when Harrison was born, I didn’t get to him until he was 4 days old. Well, the Lord was more than gracious answering my prayer because Harrison is so attached to me and I love when he and Dustin get to experience that.

Another FAVORITE that I’ll have to upload a picture next week, but I added brown to my hair! I have loved being super blonde, but I was so ready for a change. I’m loving it!

I ordered a few Rachel Parcell dresses to try on and see if I find one that works for pictures for our Christmas card. I plan on doing a post with pictures on the blog once they come in, but this is what I ordered: one and two (the third I ordered must be sold out already because there isn’t a picture online anymore)

Happy Happy Friday, y’all! Sorry for the week absence–long story short, but I started a new workout accountability program Monday that literally consumed my life. I am no longer continuing with it because it was pretty unhealthy, and I realized that Wednesday evening. So I had zero energy to devote to blogging or even reading blogs.

But I’m so glad to be back FINALLY!! We are about to start my FAVORITE time of the year–September through December!! I’ve already got my fall candles burning and listening to my “fall” music haha!

And speaking of fall…

Emily and I are hosting our annual Fall Favorites link up! We’ve added two new days to the line up–fall scents and fall entertainment. I love learning about what scents people love using for fall–whether it’s candles, oils, soaps, etc. We’ve also added fall entertainment so feel free to share your favorite shows that make you think of fall, or movies, or music! That’s the one I’m most excited about this time around because I take my fall-themed entertainment seriously 🙂

Harrison turned 18 months old yesterday. How in the world has it been a year and a half already since I first met my son?! He’s a boy who loves dancing and being outside. It’s so funny watching his excitement when I ask him if he wants to listen to music. He runs to where our Bose speaker is in the kitchen and waits on me to put it on the Oldies playlist I made. Also, we’re struggling a little bit adjusting to a new routine involving school, but we’re making it!

This picture cracks me up! Harrison loves food and he’s serious about his love for food. Dustin snapped this picture as Harrison shoved food in his mouth and was really enjoying it. He also has learned that he can pull his bowls off of his tray and dump them out–fun fun LOL.

The hurricane that hit Louisiana and is moving it’s way north has been devastating to watch. We’re expecting tornados here this afternoon/evening/and maybe night? I’m praying for all of the people who have been affected by the terrible weather because I cannot imagine how they must feel right now.

Praise the Lord, it is FRIDAY!!! This has felt like the longest week ever, and it’s so sad that I woke up yesterday wondering when Labor Day is so I get a break from school LOL! I am completely exhausted. Here’s the thing about wearing masks in schools–I’m having to project my voice so much more so that everyone can hear me, so that’s tiring me out more (because I’m talking ALL DAY LONG) and then I feel like I’m deaf because I’m having to ask my kids to repeat themselves so much because I can’t understand them with masks on lol! I am praying for everything to go back to normal soon!!!

In the meantime, today I’m sharing a few of my FAVORITES with y’all!

This is probably my favorite look I got from the Nordstrom sale this year. I was able to shop on August 10th and got almost everything on my wish list (only two things were sold out). I thought about doing an entire post on the things I bought but I noticed that things were starting to really sell out once the last of the cardmembers could shop. Then things sold out even more once it opened to the public, so I didn’t feel like a post would be helpful.

I have never been a “real” pajama person–I’ve always just preferred sleeping in oversized tshirts until I read this post from Do Say Give about sleeping in pajamas. I’m very particular about the feel of the shirts that I sleep in, so I gave this set a try from the NSale. Y’all, I’m obsessed! I tried to buy a second pair after I had slept in these for a few nights but they had sold out completely. UGH. I’ll pay full price after the sale because I love them that much.

I’m kind of even embarrassed to say that I’ve started watching The Vampire Diaries on Netflix. Caitlin from Southern Curls & Pearls posted about it nonstop on IG stories, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m actually kind of hooked on the storyline. I’m almost done with season 1. This is what’s keeping me up late at night ha! Have you watched it?
